I guess you are asking what is the current state of our (physics community) knowledge. The LHC experiments seem to indicate that it does exist.
A higgs "like" boson was experimently verified to a high degree of certainty. If is a higgs,the higgs or something else is still open to question.
hardalee has the correct answer. We found a boson exactly where the Higgs boson was predicted to be found. What we haven't done is determine whether or not all properties of this new boson are identical to the ones of the original predicted Higgs boson.
