Doesn't this post seem rather off. Apart from the being saved from permanently banned for a 'relatively minor offense' if SAM makes a forced apology, is this really what you want moderators doing when they feel insulted or that something has been misattributed to them? Countdowns to permabans? Does this seem like mature behavior and showing a meaningful understanding of what an apology is? To me it seems personal, childish and unnecessary. I am well aware of how SAM's participation is viewed by some. I know this will not be seen by some of you as being around this single issue. But then, that's how the issue is couched..... Apologize to me for what you said here or be permabanned.
He's not a 'mod' he's the administrator and he's not basing this on a one-off event or transgression but a long line of consistent posting behaviour.
