Hi all

I've been having some problems with my current diet.

I have been told by many that I am being unhealthy and should change my diet to a more nutritious one

An example of what I eat in the day

Breakfast: Sweet and Sour Chicken and prawn crackers (full blown meal)
Lunch: Haribo and a big bar of Dairy Milk
Dinner: Pasta, Garlic Bread
And around 11ish I have a a bowl of Oatso Simple

And in between these I drink soft drinks and eat McCoy's

I'm quite happy with my diet and I don't feel unhealthy, I actually feel pretty good about myself.

Can anyone offer any advise?

Thanks

Typical day's meal for me:

Breakfast: Crispix (corn cereal)
Lunch: An orange
Sometime after lunch: Small sandwich (ham & cheese)
Dinner: Anything with bread (more sandwiches, pasta & garlic, bowl of chili & cheese--stuff like that)
11ish: Crispix

<drool>Mmm... Garlic bread and pasta...</drool>

BTW, what's Haribo?

Thanks!

You're almost surely not getting enough of all the necessary vitamins and minerals. It's not just health food bullshit, those organic chemicals really are necessary to support life.

Take a good multi-vitamin mineral supplement. It doesn't cost too much and you can wash it down with just about any liquid you drink. Some vitamins are fat-soluble so you should take them with a meal that has a reasonable amount of fat or oil in it, not just pure starch.

You're getting a little vitamin C from the orange. Other fruits and veggies provide others. You can tweak your supplements to avoid doubling up on stuff you're getting naturally. But except for the orange and maybe some fortification in your cereal, you're setting yourself up for a vitamin or mineral deficiency.

Cheap insurance, get some pills.

You should be thankful that you have food. My daily meals consist of:
Breakfast - none
Lunch - none
Dinner - rice, maybe some type of meat, and a vitamin.

Wow Thor...

That's some kinda diet you got going there. Say...how would you feel about leaving me your Cujo poster if you suddenly .."drop off" one day?

My diet: (why I'm doing this, I don't know..everyone else is.)

Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

Breakfast: Toast and water

Lunch: Sandwich/pasta and fruit, and a bottle of water for the day

Dinner: Always have vegetables on my plate, salmon/fish twice a week, steak once or twice in two weeks, takeout once a month, pastas/rice, or go completely Spartan and just have fresh bread with cheese, stew, and baked red potatoes soaked in olive oil and seasoned with rosemary+thyme (*drool*) but always we finish with at least 2 kinds of fruits

Also take calcium chewables as a kind of dessert, because they taste like coffee.

11ish: A bit of junk food, but we rarely get chips, and ice-cream always gets freezerburn because we never finish it on time.

And we never buy chocolate, they're usually gifts around Christmas that don't seem to get finished.

usually, im eating. ask anyone who talks to me on messanger.. lol. im always brb-ing to get foods. but all that has changed.

new diet:
breakfast: special k red berries and a zippyzoo +iron vitamin.
puter snack: yougart
lunch: healthy choice microwavable meal or non-dairy soup.
work snack: crackers. very plain.

dinner: -see lunch-
late dinner: (or what used to be) fruit juice.

the trick is less food more often. so your body doesn't freak out and start storing and your metabolism stays high. all this ofcourse with regular exercise and lots of water...

Thor: if your happy the way you are then dont change it. changing your diet can really affect your moods IMO, and if you feel ggod now, there is no sens in tampering with it... unless ofcourse you do develope a medical condition of some sort.. but thats another story.

you do know vitamen tablets wont work if you dont eat properly anyway?

http://www.nal.usda.gov:8001/py/pmap.htm

something like a piece of fruit, bowl of GOOD cerial (not that sugar laden crap), and some fruit juice (increase as much as you like)

then something with cheese in it, some veg and a meat for lunch, a salad or a samwige with some fruit is perfect. again increase as much as u like till you are full, the more of THIS stuff you eat the better you will feel

for tea i cant even put it into a catigory, fish, chicken, lots of veg RICE or pasta

(if you want recipys i can give you BILLONS out of my text book, i AM a comertial cook

fuitose is REALLY good for you as are complex cabohidrates, really simple sugars arnt so good

Fruit and veg doesn't exactly agree with me *looks to lower back area*

But I shall try. I don't liek eating apples and bananas and like fruit fresh. Maybe I should eat more strawberries and pineapples.

Why don't you all know what Haribo is????
