The easiest way is to put the image link between img tags, like so:

    [noparse]

Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

    [/noparse]

This of course means that people can see where you got it from. If you don't want that download the image off the net and then upload it to an image hosting website (or your own if you have one).

If you do upload one it's also a good idea to use an image editor and change it's size (or crop it). Images can technically have meta data hidden in the background if they are the full image (like what date the picture was taken, what camera was used and what lens settings, sometimes even GPS information) There is then the potential for stenographic watermarking. (re-rendering the image just makes it a little more difficult to just do a quick search on image size and data to match with)

You can get a free photo editing/paint program from GIMP.org (Available on most platforms)

Pieces of squid!? With the number two on one bit? I guess you're thinking of one of those pre-fab squids that come un-assembled.

Is it some kind of keyboard? Perhaps of the ice or snow pre-fab squid variety?

Or, any kind of keyboard/keypad really...

I've made an album on sciforums for close up pictures. Anyone can use it. Upload it there.
When you download the image from the net, use the "save as" option, so you can give it a new name.

Is it a candle? Perhaps of the keyboard/keypad or number 2 variety?
