I have an LCD monitor and green dots appear especially when i scroll down on a website with a black or darker background? Any ideas how to correct this?

I have done some research and feel that this may be due to burnt out or stuck pixels.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Please describe the where the dots appear on the monitor.

Are they always in the same location?
Are they randomly dispersed?
Do they appear underneath or above text and then move as if attached to the text while you scroll?

You might have bad pixels, or you could try a different driver.

Or...if all else fails...use windex to clean the boogers from your screen. :)

it's most likely a bad LCD monitor...

if it's still under warranty you should get it replaced ASAP...

the problem the pixels are locked. its a known problem on lcds where certain pixels get locked with certain colors(green blue red etc.). you have warranty? you need to get the lcd to a lab, theyll fix it.

yep. the only thing is they only appear when i scroll down. if i do nothing there is no issue.

Do the green dots appear whenever there is any motion at all on that region of the screen, or only during mouse-scroll events? If you put a gif animation on that part, do you still see the dots?

ooo...if they are not there all the time, it could be your video card going wonky. (technical term)

Yeah i am beginning to think the video card is the issue. Any way to adjust my fan manually. It does not seem to be kicking on as much as it should.

I have the following VC installed.

GeForce 7900 GS

Thanks gang.

i figured it out. needed to downclock the cpu and memory. problem solved. no more dots.

if you ever have this problem try my solution. i solve things.
