I wonder if some sites employ some sort of inside the picture tags like a code of sort inside the gif image as a birthmark.

and also if other sites employ methods to crypt the names of the pictures so that they cannot be found outside their system by search means.

Google image searches have a safesearch filter by default, for the most part this keeps some seriously hideous pictures of peoples anus's (Hurm... Anii?) from being accidentally found while searching with genuinely non-offensive terms.

(You can actually report to Google anything that shouldn't be there, like if you find dodgy porn you can mail them the exact search you used to find it, you can also have material removed from the search engine either stuff that you don't want shown from your own site or stuff you don't want shown about you from another site. I recently reported a site that was actually a trojan dropping site that used my username to infect people, the daft thing was that my username stood out like a sore thumb because they used it so many times it got the top page search for a week or so. Obviously their manipulation of their Ranking was to drop that trojan on unsuspecting googler's, it wasn't just my username they were using to infect with but an entire list of words/usernames.)

As for your picture file naming convention, It should be found by typing the date (14 november 2007 png) or as an entire query "14-november-2007" however don't search it as 14-november because thats like saying find searches with "14" in them but not "November".

The full potential of an internet will only be fully realised when an 'open-source' equivalent of google does the job for no money, or favours of any kind - just delivery of information. How this would be made possible is beyond the scope of this post, except that such a situation is not only desirable, it's imperative for freedom of digital rights

i also think, a presence in cyberspace should be advertised by default. no one can choose to opt out from being mined

if you object, create your own infrastructure

This will actually search for the phrase "14 november". Google treats words seperated by hyphens without spaces as quoted phrases (try it). There would need to be a space after 14 for Google to exclude 'november'.
