    Hi,
I just want to say a general goodbye to all the great people here, that I've had the great pleasure to have discussions with.

I've been here for about 7 years, so I don't even remember the names of all of you, but you exist as a nostalgic feeling of happiness and good times. It ain't much, but there you are.

My reasons for leaving are simple: I see that more and more of my time is sucked away by a snake pit of ignorance, petty egoisms, outright stupidity and ridiculous stomping over ethical principles of civilized societies, much of it coming from our glorious leaders.
Lately that snake pit has grown so big and venomous that I no longer wish to bathe in it.

I couldn't stand to be a moderator in that snake pit (Tiassa mistreating Baron was the last straw), and now, after reading some of the further comments, including replies in my Reinventing Sciforums threads, I find that unfortunately I can't stand to be a member as well. Which is truly tragic, considering the time that I've devoted to Sciforums over the last 7 years.

It's futile because of the egoism of those in power and those supporting them. And because Asquard and Tiassa are little, farting children of the Devil himself. And because of my egoism, which says: Get out, while you can, don't mind the community! Maybe it's just self preservation.
Some will probably say "Good riddance!", and I hope that it is.

Oh, I'll still probably take a quick look around from now and then to check out how my buddies are doing, to spoil the party a bit, heh.

So that's the situation, to much of my shame I'm giving up. Rock 'n' roll is out there, and I'm using my Get The Hell Out of Here card while I still can!

    That's it, finito, ciao!
    My card is burning already.

But you can also just take a break for a month or so, right ?
Then come back with a fresh start and limit your time here.

Yes, a good idea, take a break for awhile and do something else that you enjoy. We all need to take time off from everything we are involved with to recharge ourselves and refreshen our minds. Sorry to hear about your dilema but as with life in general ...it sucks at times, doesn't it. Come back when you feel better and thank you for your input here, I have enjoyed reading your posts and talking with you. I'm sure others have as well and your input will be missed by many here I'm certain. Do take care and have fun at whatever you do.

Avatar, how can you leave somewhere where you are called an unflappable kitty cat. You know there's only one place, and that's here.

Sorry to see you go Avatar, I've known you here a long time. It certainly is tragic the way you've been treated by Plazma, publicly humiliating you when mods like Sam are allowed to run roughshod over the forums. Take care, bud.

Geez, I wish we still had sigs...

You've provided a couple of dy-no-mite possibilities lately.

Fare Thee Well, in any event.

Reading between the lines, I think that Avatar had decided to leave long before he kicked up a fuss. Baron Max was just a convenient excuse.

Really, this is just another example of a member who wants to go out in what they regard as a blaze of glory.

No doubt Avatar will be applauded by the usual cheer squad.

Good luck Avatar. If you come back, good for us and if you don't, then just good luck.

James, easy on the guy. People want to leave. People come back. No big deal.

I just don't know why people find it so hard to simply decide to take a break for a while and go off quietly, perhaps to return some time in the future if they feel like it.

Why do people feel they need to burn all bridges behind them as they leave?

    It makes very little sense.

By the way, I sent Avatar a PM following his initial outburst and demotion. I never received a reply from him, although he must have received it. I can only assume he wanted to be rude.

Obviously it bothered him. Tiassa can be particularly arrogant.

When you put it like that it's hard to argue.
The majority would always welcome you back. All the best.
