They clean house, do laundry, shovel snow, rake leaves, and wash dishes. If you are really lucky, you get a chunk of their Halloween candy
There's only one good reason for having children, other then the obvious one of avoiding extinction..... they force you to grow and challenge your limits....
I see kids as possible reincarnation. After all my kid will have my DNA and will have many of my characteristics. So that makes my kid as me, and who cares if I loose my memories of past life...when I got a kid to live on as me.
I couldnt imagine my life without my daughter now. The best thing that ever happened to me. Children are a blessing...and thats all I got to say bout that.
lol, great thread, both sadistic and serious posts were fun to read. i think it's also the instinct of owning things and "growing" them, like getting a land and farming it, an apartment and furnishing it, a car and modifying/taking care of it, we all like to own things, personalize and update them, get attached to them... what possesion can be more valuable then to have your own human being?
People have kids because they have a biological impulse to do so first and foremost. Then comes the "want" part --- I want a kid because [enter reason]. Having kids is a wonderful blessing. A "selfish" motivation isn't necessarily a bad one. Maybe they want to experience the joy of parenthood? Good for them.
