Why would a God that created the universe want everyone in that universe to constantly pray to "him"? The ants in my yard may "believe" that I'm awesome but it does nothing for me if they take a moment out of their day to stop "work" and maybe leave 10% of the crumbs they've accumulated over in a corner of the yard for me. Given the size of the universe it borders on unbelievable to think that a God who created the universe could even find Earth and certainly he wouldn't need the constant validation of the "ants". I own all the grains of dirt in my yard but I don't have a favorite grain of dirt and if I did I wouldn't be able to find it. Earth is no more "special" in the scale of the Universe than a grain on dirt in my yard. Now to the "how" question. If there is a spiritual world that is distinct from the material world, as would have to be the case for a God as is usually described, what are its laws? How does a "thought" move. Is it limited by the speed of light? How can God even know when we are praying? What mechanism exists for his actions to take place across the vastness of the Universe. So, to be concise, why does a God that could create an entire universe care if one species on one tiny speck of that universe prays or not and what are the laws of physics that apply to the "spiritual" world? Are their other Gods but just not ones that we should worship?
Of course, only a conceited egocentric myopic insane insecure immature narcissist brat would want that. The HolyBabble clearly says there are other gods.
Hopefuly i am the top-God of those other gods an my powers will blossom soon... i will then be honest wit everbody an make it posible for everbody to have what they want wit no strangs attached.!!!
Where does God say that He wants us to ''constantly pray to him'' From this analogy, it seems that you're looking at God as some giant guy who wants to be worshiped by His minions, for the sake of self aggrandizement. Why not read up about God, and try and understand the concept? If you were really honest you would realize that your claim about the Earth not being anymore special than a grain of dirt, is nothing but an opinion. Given what you've said so far, I have to wonder why you would be interested in asking these questions. Why don't you google these question? jan.
God wants your sacralige because he is love and loves you as such. What I think is that He is the love in the air, some little boy's functioning mind making a aura that covets us all. We can respect him, thats all. However as a pacifist he needs our bowing heads or we can't receive his full gift.
Hmmm... each to ther own... but i druther not get any "gifts" that i need to bend over to receive Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
The thing about not knowing is asking the wrong questions, elevate oneself. The praying is not for God to benefit it's for us to benefit, imagine that you were in love true love like love at first sight then increase that feeling an infinite amount of times to experience such bliss you will be compelled to pray and never want that feeling to leave your presence. I have not experience this but I had a breif taste just enough to comprehend this difficult question I as well too asked.
From Jan Ardena Post #6 commenting on Post by Seattle: Some opinions seem more valid than others. Seattle provided some cogent reasons for his opinion. Perhaps Jan believes in the medieval cosmology of the Dark & Middle ages when the Earth was viewed as the center of the universe.
His opinions are only valid to him, and people who agree with them, and his reasoning is based on his atheism. Perhaps you believe truth changes with time. “ But when you look at [the cosmic microwave background] map, you also see that the structure that is observed, is in fact, in a weird way, correlated with the plane of the earth around the sun. Is this Copernicus coming back to haunt us? That’s crazy. We’re looking out at the whole universe. There’s no way there should be a correlation of structure with our motion of the earth around the sun — the plane of the earth around the sun — the ecliptic. That would say we are truly the center of the universe.” L. Krauss. https://medium.com/we-are-in-a-spec...dings-universe-is-not-copernican-26f88f17a732 jan.
