Hi there. I've invented a card-game based on football. It's called "Goal!" and can be played with an ordinary deck of fifty-two cards. The two players take turns to draw cards from the pre-shuffled deck. The first to draw an ace places it face-up on the "pitch." The next player to draw a two (of any suit) places that upon the ace. The next to draw a three places this on the two. This continues through the straight until a player places a king, and therefore scores a goal. The straight on the pitch is then discarded from the pack. Once all fifty-two cards have been drawn, the ninety-minutes are up, and the game finishes. Tactics include holding a straight in your hand until you decide to play it (e.g. 7,8,9), or tackling someone in mid-field (placing a six on your opponents five.) I envisage a future where cards are printed with teams' logos printed on the reverse, and simply ace to king are printed on the face. Enjoy! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
