    Weird Science

I dug this up because I needed it for a joke in another thread, but it is one of my all-time favorite scenes, from one of the most paradoxically entertaining films ever made:

Weird Science — "The Kandy Bar"

    An American classic.

(On Edit: I just realized, for the first time in twenty-six years, just how funny it is that Wyatt's fake ID bears the name Alan J. Dixon.)

I like Woody Allen movies. Vicky Christina Barcelona is great!

    Hi Omega 133,
The movie "Dreams" by Akira Kurowasu is very beautiful and thoughtfull.
If you like animation "My Neighbor Totoro" is almost real.
If you haven't seen the first Willy Wonka, es schmeckt.

Just watched the original version of Frank Herbert's "Dune" with Sting. Lots of neat stuff, but too much of the story is glossed over quickly. I think I like the recent version better.

I completely agree with you on that.

As always, it proves very difficult to carry the story from book to movie successfully.

Seven Samurai we have at home...awesomeness.

I have yet to see any animated film by Miyazaki that is not good, although Spirited Away is probably the best.

"Children of Men". Kind - of low budget, could have used the standard camera lifts and better sound track - especially early on in the flick. The story gets gripping though, and overall the film is a pretty good Sci - Fi dystopian future thriller. 4 out of 5 stars from my teenage son and I.
