The looks of the car would be the last thing on my mind if I was driving it, passing some jackass trying to race me in a 'pretty' car. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! And my Subaru isn't exactly known for its sleek, classy looks either, but that's not why I bought it. It's fun watching faces of the drivers in their pretty little sports coupes get dusted by a four-door, econo-sedan that looks like a Chinese take-out box with a turbocharger and huge wing.
Even the old toyota tercels have a lot of get'up and go. i would be the first out at green light easily while they are still pushing the pedal to the medal. i like the nissan maxima, toyota prius, mazda tribute, suzuki grand vitara, mitsubishi galant, montero, hyundai elantra and sonata, kia sephia, and optima, audi A6 and most anything by infiniti, acura and mercedes. the scion looks cool but i don't know anything about them.
Until Ford decides to grow some balls and bring the (street legal version) Cosworth powered Focus Rally RS to the States, then the front wheel drive, underpowered Focus can suck it. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Mitsubishi and Subaru can manufacture, market and sell high performance, street legal versions of their WRC cars (Evolution and WRX/STi) here in the U.S., then Ford can too. Although there are kits available to convert the Focus to RWD and swap that puny 4 cylinder with a 4.6 liter V8 out of the Mustang.
I prefer a good looking car that will smoke the likes of your ugly Subaru - like my Magnum... Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! *not actual photo of may car, but same model and color
spidergoat, At least there's a door on both sides of that, so you can get out when it topples over. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
mikenostic, You can get a used focus for about $3-5 thousand, add a $3,000 supercharger kit, maybe another thousand for coil-overs and tires, and you will have one mean machine!
If you install a supercharger don't increase boost over 10 PSI without first redoing the bottom end of the engine. It won't stand more pressur than that with just the regular setup that it has from the factory. Whenever you really want to get allot of power then about a 15 to 20 percent boost is required.

True, but the RWD conversion kit that would allow installation of the 4.6/5.0 V8 would be much better. For one reason, RWD > FWD. For another, the V8 is much more receptive to engine/power mods, and has a much better aftermarket support. I would actually say no more than 4 psi of boost if you left the engine unmodified. And it wouldnt be just the bottom end, it would be ECU, injectors, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and you would not be able to run anything less than 93 octane fuel in it. haha...not even if it had the Hemi engine in it. Your Magnum(if it has the hemi) has a few more HP(not much) than my Subie, but it also has a few hundred more pounds of weight too. Not too mention the Subie is AWD, which means a slingshot launch with NO wheelspin. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Of course it's got the Hemi. 340 horse. What's your little Subie got? Also, it has Electronic Traction Control - little to no spin - and the Mercedes semi-automatic transmission that I can put in first gear and will automatically upshift at peak torque.
