What about the old cartoon villains with the curly black mustaches and bombs that look like cannon balls?

    R. Daneel Oliva, the timeless, humanoid, mind altering robot from Asimov's Robot and Foundation novels. I do believe Mr Data of Star Trek TNG was modeled after him. (they won't admit it though)

In fact, every single book I've ever read by Asimov has been great...

Me too. I had the luck of reading the original three books of the Foundation series first, then went back to read the Robot series. I knew where it was going but it was still was interesting to see where it came from. Kind of like the Star Wars movies, we know the ending but it is still fun to see how we are going to get to there.

I also like Robert Heinlen, especially the book "The Past Through Tomorrow".

Janeway- A good role model for women
    Q- He's omnipotent
Female Q- I loved it when she told Q "Get rid of the dog." Q zapped the Irish Setter puppy. Then she said "The other dog." The look on Janeway's face was absolutely priceless.
Lt. Barclay- He has real problems, but is a brilliant engineer.

Jame Retief- A fun character. Keith Laumer did this because he was once in the armed forces and foreign services and he decided to parody both of them.

Chewy for sure. It's all about the wookiee.

The worst character ever has got to be ripley from aliens. I don't know why I just HATE her. There is no way she could kill those aliens. Get some gun-wielding commando kung-fu chick in there but not Sigourney Weaver.

    Apollo of Battlestar Galactica

"... Freedom cannot be negotiated. It is rarely given. It is usually won at great cost and sacrifice. Once lost, the price for regaining it will be ever higher. I came from a world where the people believed the oppositie of war was peace.
We found out the hard way that the opposite of war is more often slavery. And that strength - strength alone - can support freedom."
