I keep finding images that are interesting.. interesting in a UFO way for me, and in a natural way for others. However, click below for the large-scale image.

This is a great view of the now famous object in the astronauts reflection. Could this be apart of the yellow light on my other thread??

I can see the LM, the US flag, the TV camera tripod(?), the other astronaut. No orange blob. Help.

There are three objects in the frame.. Astronaut.. Hi you! Then the orangish colored thing on the horizon.. then some sort of equipment stuck in the ground to the left of the orangish colored thing.

I am not sure how you could not see this..... The image is rather large so it may take a bit to load, make sure you actually clicked the first one above.

What you call an Orangish colored thing is just the US flag the astronauts placed on the Moon It is way out of focus, which caused the red and white stripes to blur together (if you look real close you can just make out a slighty more blue area where the stars would be) and is obviously not straight on to the camera.

If you look just below it in the image you can see its shadow cast on the ground, which when compared with the other shadows in the image, gives you idea of the object's size and position, and this matches well with it being the flag.

BTIMSAH: Either you are a complete idiot, or judging from your posts you enjoy looking at thousands of NASA images looking for things that are not there.

    Please delete this shit thanks.

I am not talking about the flag to the left.. I am talking about the object in between the flag and astronaut.

It's better to have someone think you are an idiot, than to open you're mouth and confirm it.

This is certainly an astronomy topic, and you made the choice to post in here. So, the idiot would be you for posting in a form that you think is "shit".

    Thanks for the confirmation.

No, not the flag. The orange thing on the horizon.. no shadow either.

Forget the astronaut and the flag.. I have a feeling I'm seeing fanatical skeptiscm here, but never know.

I have tried to see 'the orangish coloured thing' in the picture, but I just don't get where you are trying to go with this. Perhaps you could go as far as circling the few pixels it is where your imagination has ran wild.

Again, I ask, why is this in the 'science' section of the forum?

What you refer to as the "orangish colored thing" is the flag. The other item to the left is not the flag.

Look closely. See the shadow and the flagpole?

The NASA Photo ID is AS11-40-5903 if you want to order a high-res print to examine it properly.

You might be right, I thought you were saying the object on the left was the flag. However....

#1. The shadow you pointed out is not going in the right direction to be from the "flag". That's just a rock, or its shadow in the forground.

#2. The object is rather big and further above the horizon than everything else.

Why did it blur so much, if it is the flag? Nothing else blurred, such as the equipment or astronaut.

Also, if it were the flag behind him, would it not be SHORTER than the objects closer to the camera?

IT is the FLAG! If NASA was trying to cover this kind of thing up then why did they release a picture with a HUGE ORANGE UFO on it? It's just a flag.

Yes, bitsmah, the flag is near to the lander. Notice how far back the back of the lander is? The flag looks further away than it is, because (1) over half the pole is virtually invisible against the lunar regolith in this photo, and (2) the helmet face is highly curved, distorting the reflection.

Also, don't forget that this is a reflection - left and right appear reversed, which may be upsetting your judgement of where the flag should be.
