Well, think about it. The US also made sure that no US soldier can be tried for war crimes at the ICC. Add to that about a million human rights and "ethical warfare" treaties that the US have refused to sign, and you've got a pretty sinister picture.
Nothing sinister about it. Its just that nothing can absolve US Soldiers of any wrongdoing faster than the Pentagon. Its efficiency.

Getting away with murder is not the same thing as terrorism. Actually, the reason the government exempts our soldiers from the ICC is the fear that they will be subjected to bogus charges. I don't think they would be, but given all the bogus charges made by our enemies, I can understand why they have this fear. I expect that as the ICC develops a solid record of not being a venue for bogus charges, opposition to ICC jurisdiction will dissipate. And as for getting away with murder, most groups do in wartime. How many Iraqis do you think will be spending life in prison for murdering our soldiers?
