Foreigners who study English formally have the advantage of their own education systems. Some of them are pretty good. It doesn't take much to be better than ours.

Is it just my fellow Americans who annoy you? I don't notice the other anglophones butchering our language quite so badly.
It is quite humble of you to call yourself an "overload" rather than an "overlord."

I'm still repenting the fact that I spelled "Gandhi" as "Ghandi" for a while

heh Overload, now that i bit funny unfortunately i cannot claim it was on purpose as it was an honest mistake and wouldn't it be better if it said : "grammatically wrong" instead

Well ... yes and no. I like to consider any word used more than a few times by English speakers to be firmly appropriated into English ... but that means I should spell it properly

I'd be more interested to hear how you say it.

I mean, speak. Actually, wikipedia says it's something like 'gondi', but it's difficult to write pronunciation without posting a soundfile or using the IPA (and I don't really understand the IPA). So I have little idea.

In a way, there is a certain purity in text communication. Someone on a forum could be deaf and you might not even know.

I just call him "The Mahatma". You'd have to be Dutch or something to mispronounce that one. (Those dutch... always sticking their fingers in things... hey. That's not on topic.... The fuck?)

Mahatma is a Dutch word. It means sphincter.

On some other forum I post at, I noticed lots of people consistently spelling missile as "missle" which soon began to annoy me, so I changed my signature to educate people of the correct spelling. I even PMed one poster to instruct him personally on the correct spelling.

A few days later, what do I see? The same poster continuing to spell it wrong.

It just goes to show - some people are just ignorant.

I view it like a conversation...when I'm talking I don't have to capitilize My "I" or worry about "your" or "you're"...it's just understood from the context. So sometimes I don't bother here. I don't think it really matters, just as long as its not like Duendy, because that was bad.

Even duendy is preferable to our new friend Parhadron

Random lettuce randomly organized into Tarzan (words?).

    I assume he's foreign.
