What describes mumbai's people best is the 1994 movie called- 'eena meena deeka' . In this movie there is a big herd of poverty, dancing beggars, bathing women, comedy...etc. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109710/ Moreover there is this famous theme song- rumpha chika chika, rumpha chika...!

There's no topic of discussion, as far as I can see. And besides, it was originally posted in "Formal Debates".

If ginger asks really nicely and gives a good reason, I might move it.

For some reason, the thread title made me think this was a thread on Kishore Kumar or R D Burman, with the gibberish lyrics and rock n roll hence the eena meena deeka

A couple of crazy Bengalees making it in Bollywood is more representative of Bombay than that sad excuse of a movie trying to cash in on the past.

But if you must scour Bollywood for the meaning of Mumbai then you couldn't do better than Azam Baig's number in the old CID, where Johnny Walker tells you "Yeh hai Bombay meri jaan"
