    This is mankind's fault.

and no it wasn't HAARP's fault, of course. It just couldn't have been. No way. Impossible.

Well, I think people are underestimating the side effects of such experiments..

the mass got shifted up at a critical location of the not-so-perfect-sphere of our planet, hence the change in rotation.

How does one prove that it actually "shifted " the axis at all? Is there some kind of math formula that will prove it or just how do they prove this?

it's been happening forever... we just didn't have the ability to measure it... what's the big deal?

well if it was me I would look at the magnetosphere data from the satellites.

Also I could get real-time space-weather information from Community Coordinated Modeling Center (CCMC) of the Space Weather Laboratory at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.

If I remember correctly there was one in Chile like 50 years ago that was around 9.5...did the days also become shorter, and the axis shift? D:

1960 Valdivia Earthquake moved Earth off its axis by three inches.

Just three inches? Even though it was quite a bit stronger than the current one?

How did they prove that without the aid of satellites?

The amount of shift in the Earths figure axis is not neccessarily dependent on the magnitude of the quake, it's dependent on the magnitude and direction of the movement (a transform fault generally should produce little noticeable shift, but a thrust fault will have a more noticeable effect) and the location of the earthquake (quakes in mid lattitude regions have more influence than those in equatorial regions, this is why this quake had about the same effect as the 2004 boxing day earthquake).

    1.26 microseconds...

is the amount of time our days have been shortened by due to the massive earthquake that struck Chile on Saturday. It was so powerful that NASA scientists think it may have actually shifted Earth's axis. While the change is negligible, it's permanent!

    Interesting huh?
