Earth Overshoot day, what is the worst case scenario?

    Well you must have some idea, since you said:
    Now, true, billvon only said his personal carbon footprint was net zero, so any number not zero would make him wrong...but if you believe his number is not zero, you still need a basis for believing that.

    Of course. His personal carbon footprint includes all kinds of things - like the commercial ventures aimed at the population which includes him - that he has no personal control over. And his ability to counter them with, say, solar power fed back into the grid, is a consequence of political effort on a community scale. And so forth. Admittedly I am simply assuming that the prorated share of all this community carbon emission is a significant footprint - but do you actually doubt that?
