    Think about this. Plants take in energy from the sun and convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose. This could be considered to be a form of energy storage (storing the sun's energy). It is thermodynamically unstable (because you put in energy to convert the base elements into this form) but its kinetically stable (it doesn't spontaneously combust).

    Fire provides energy to start the combustion of things like wood and paper (which you may consider to be a product of glucose). After reaching the activation energy and the products form, the reaction provides energy energy to carry the reaction forward.
