I run multiple operating systems & have been using utilities which make compressed Images of partitions. It is a handy way to recover from various system problems.
Make copies of OS & Data partitions every 10-15 days or sooner if major changes/updates are made.

If a disk crashes or an OS gets infected with really bad malware, restore from the most recent image.

The above is more reliable than various other approaches, which can fail if the OS itself becomes unreliable.
DriveImage was great for quite a few years, but I had to give up on it when I installed Win7. DriveImage did not support Vista/Win7 partitions. I have been using Acronis TrueImage, but it has been giving me some problems although it does the job.

AvanQuest Software produces a utility called Perfect Image, which looks like a worthwhile replacement for Acronis TrueImage.

Has anyone here used Perfect Image? I would be especially interested in comments from a user of Trueimage who replaced it with Perfect Image.

Does anyone here know of a forum which might be more reliable for PC software/hardware issues? In the past, I have seledom noticed any threads/posts which seemed to be due to high tech computer geeks.

BTW: My system provides bootup options for 32Bit & 64Bit Win7 as well as 3 versions of XP.
