1. Doberman (have one) 2. Boxer (have one) 3. Great Dane 4. Husky/Malimute 5. (not on the list) Cane Corso I like the powerful, athletic breeds.
Black Labrador. Huge, covered in fur and very friendly, they make great pets. Which one have you got?
I enjoy all dogs that don't poop on my yard! Actually I like this little one right now for he comes by once a day on his "walk". Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Labs are like the Toyota Camry or Honda Accord of dogs. Very reliable, dependable and user friendly, but everyone and their mom has one. Great breed of dog though.
Golden lab. Nice dog, but she's getting old (12) and got a bunch of health problems... terrible hips and such
Mine is a bit younger but he's starting to get some arthritis problems, although fortunately he seems to be mostly in good health.
My two favorites are Rottweilers and Pit bulls. The two best dogs I've ever owned were Rottweiler/Pit bull mixes.
We raise Lhasa Apsos. We currently have ten of 'em--we've got a huge house and an acre of yard on our five-acre lot. Only a couple are breeders and they're all members of the family. They're hard-headed and independent, a high incidence of the alpha instinct. They're not into this owner-pet relationship, you're just a really nice roommate who buys all the food. We advertise them as dogs for cat people. They're not very active and don't need a lot of exercise. But if it snows their Himalayan heritage kicks in, and they scamper up and down snowy cliffs with the confidence of mountain goats. They have both the IQ and eyesight of a crowbar, so you don't have to worry about being outwitted. Lhasas are one of the first distinct breeds, going back about 8,000 years to when they were the midden scavengers of Central Asian nomads. More recently they came to be specialized as watchdogs in Tibetan Buddhist monasteries. Their legacy from that era is outstandingly sensitive hearing and unerring judgment of human character on first contact. If your Lhasa Apso doesn't want to let someone in the house, do yourself a favor and don't let them in. We also have an Anatolian Guardian who keeps the bears and cougars out of the yard. Anatolians are a fairly old breed, going back at least 3,000 years. They were developed in what is now Turkey to guard livestock against jackals and big cats, by placing the head of a mastiff on the 120-pound (50kg) body of a greyhound on steroids. In Africa they breed them a bit larger and two of them will keep a village free of lions--a solution that delights both the farmers and the environmentalists. We used to have a Maltese--a full-size American standard, about twelve pounds. Those dogs are truly wonderful. They are one of the most intelligent breeds and have good eyesight (by dog standards, equivalent to about 20-100 on the human scale) so you can count on being outwitted occasionally. But they're very good-natured and affectionate. Maltese go back more than 2,000 years and were indeed at one time associated with Malta, although they probably originated in Europe. They were called "the lapdogs of the Roman empresses." The teacup version now in vogue as a purse dog is a fairly recent development. The British bred them up to the 30-pound range (14kg) and trained them as circus dogs.
John, that dog is adorable. I chose 6: Beagles, dalmatians, German shepherds, greyhounds, pit bulls, jack terriers.

That poor Boxer. I'd never do that to Marley. If anything, she would be sporting a box shaped back pack that had a turret mounted chain gun and a couple of rocket launchers. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
My favorite dogs are: chili Polish (with kraut and spicy mustard) Chicago style and I'm also partial to the ones made with bratwurst sausages
