If you were examining someone's PhD via an oral examination and it was your decision as to whether they gained their doctorate, what questions would you ask them? What questions would they have to satisfactory answer in order to gain their doctorate? Obviously, your answer to this post is limited because there isn't a PhD topic and you haven't read a thesis, etc. However, there are certain standards that you would be looking for from any PhD topic. References, order , neatness, amount of actual knowledge about the subject, shows interest, can explain ideas in a clear and precise manner and no plagiarism. Those are a few things I would look for, I know there are many others.

my apologies, i thought it was an exam about work you have done to GET your Phd, ie the resurch you did. You CAN cheat on that, just take someone elses experiment and results and skip doing the work yourself
