    Ode to OIM

    If you keep repeating,
    It's really self defeating,
    It's clearly rotten cheating,
    Uneducated bleating,
    Your brain cells overheating,
    And little chance of meeting
    between OIM and sense.

    Your snide and purile output,
Your mouth quite filled with your foot,
Your logic clear as coal soot,
The screeching of a nose flute,
And no ones really gives a hoot
If very soon you get the boot,
    Dear OIM please go.

i fail to see what this has to do with evolution.
and you still haven't answered my question as to what logic leads you to the conclusion that evolution is false.

You fail to see because you are ignoring the McCarthy quote which I posted for you (twice since you ignored it the first time). Read the quote you ignored twice in a row and then you'll find your answer.

The trans-oceanic crossings are improbable, but not impossible.

i specifically asked for your logic not that of this mccarthy dude.

what are the mechanisms that drive evolution? what exactly is evolution?
can you at least answer these questions?

Bzzt! Wrong answer! Thank you for playing.

    Wrong.

Think about it: Everything in the Universe can be defined as a ratio. What separates you from a rock from a fish from a star is a matter of ratios. The key is a ratio of matter and energy. This is the most fundamental applicable differentiation.

Now then: The Universe is infinite, or has infinite potential.

Within that infinite potential, life as we know it is not some "miracle", but, rather, a statistical inevitability. It's bound to happen. It has happened before. And it will happen again.

Let's say life IS too complicated to have happened by chance.

Does that help us at all? Does using a Jesus Model do anything for us?
Using scripture as the basis of our investigatory philosophy, we ended up with alchemy.

    Darwinian or modern synthetic?

What is the mechanism that allows the tuatara to remain unchanged for 140 million years even though it's alleged to be the fastest evolving animal?

What mechanism prevents animals like sharks and echinoids from developing higher intelligence when they've been around essentially unchanged for hundreds of millions of years?

I have no clue. You tell me. There is no standard absolute definition. e.g. OED is different from Webster's etc.

    See above.

This comment nicely illustrates how poor your understanding of evolution is.

just for fun, while you have ben sent away on another of your little "time-outs" have a think about what you posted, then tell my why it's such a silly thing to say.

I love Oils logic: Platetectonics did not happen (or at least as needed) therefore evolution is wrong, like most of his logic is based on a grossly erroneous premise, and its also wonderfully hilarious! I often read Oils comments with great joy and anticipation of getting a good laugh, he better be coming back!

What this thread has taught me is that you don't go around with a thread titled "Evolution and denial of evolution: add your posts here" its just asking for every troll on the internet to come and take a shit right here!

I think the idea was that the woo woos could use this thread as their own little sandbox - sadly its impossible to walk through a thread where oily has been without stepping in something that stinks

what you mean your link to the dipshit that as far as i can tell ignores the fact that his supposed evidence for the expanding earth theory so that evolution is possible neatly falls into the plate tectonics theory and evolution.

Since the evolution of knowledge is true, then to not believe in 'evolution' is based on unlearned minds.

The more mankind learns, the future generations continue to evolve. To stop learning proves many will still react like monkeys. (see 911, inquisitions)

The reason evolution is not complete is because the knowledge of mankind is still evolving. The duty of each person is to add knowledge so the next generation has a better chance than today.

To believe in magic or omnipotence is to believe in being ignorant. It also requires an isolation from God as being a separate entity like a Zeus sitting on a thrown. Reality shares 'God' is all that exists including time. (alpha/omega...beginning and ending, creates, supports and gives life..........yep! all of existence) God is not a separate being but we are all experiencing life in HIS eyes. We are the evolution of life...... within God, (if that be your purpose.) And that means there is no undoing, no forgiving of what we impose to existence; it means be responsible!

and the first premise of choice is be honest and do good (supports life to continue) for tomorrow.

Otherwise you are useless and causing a 'loss to the common' (bad) for all of us snd that is including GOD as a whole!

so we must all support the evolution of knowledge to know God (if you still need the idea) Heck i find being 'absolute' honors all that exists and that is good from any recognized perspective of God.

Yes but the evolution of knowledge is not Darwinian or phyical evolution, its pseudo-lamarckian and a hell of a lot faster and provably under sentient control (us), humans genetically are at best de-evolving at this point with are technological lax lives and mass hybridizing resulting in the spreading of deleterious mutations and selection toward what ever group breeds more (the ignorant, poor, perhaps genetically moronic). For human knowledge to continue to develop at an experiential trend humans evolution must be taken under control to produce minds that can withstand the ever increasing amount of information at the same rate that information is being produced. At present several limits of the human mind have already been provably hit, thankfully we have developed computers to deal with these limits, eventually computers will need to take over ever aspect of technological and scientific endeavors in order to continue the advance of knowledge, at that point humans will be obsolescent or upgraded to the point were they aren't human any more. In conclusion if there isn't a god there will be one.

    I agree completely and unreservedly.
    I disagree completely an unreservedly.
    1. There is no such thing as de-evolution. An organism is fit for its particular environment. Current humans are fit for their current environment. End of chapter. If the environment changes then the appropriate fitness character changes. Start of new chapter.
    2. Mass hybridising is every bit as good, or better at spreading beneficial genes as disadvantageous mutations.
    3. Ignorance is a cultural, not a genetic condition. Perhaps you didn't know that.
    4. Poverty is a cultural, not a genetic condition, perhaps that is not a cornerstone of your society.
    5. The children of morons (and of geniuses) tend to have an IQ that reverts to the norm.
