Could it be the result of "energy leaks" or whatever into other "branes"? In other words, perhaps some phenomenon we see are actually the result of "forces" or "properties" of string relationships that span more than three branes plus time that we inhabit. I know I'm mixing terms, but I'm wondering if you can see what I mean and if so is it plausible or just, what do you think?, or is the question silly?

I suppose I should ask much more directly: Does string theory offer any solutions for dark matter? If so are they accepted? I don't suppose string theory is "accepted", so probably not?
