Valid numbers are those that doesn't violate any rules. Valid numbers are those that count so to speak. There are no most valid numbers in a row or something like that. Most valid numbers are the overall count of valid numbers. We could make a 4th place of course, if all agree to it, for most valid numbers in a row. Though I think quantum_wave will catch that one too Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! First valid number was 1 and tim840 took the third place. The only place left now is 1st place (the one that reaches 100), since quantum_wave can't be defeated anymore for 2nd place. hehe, it's going to be troublesome getting to hundred I suspect Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!, and I won't interfere anymore as of this post (until the final ruling of course).
87 You have a point. For me it is the challenge of competing with a few other players to try to be the winner as defined in the rules. Everyone who knows the rules knows that to post 99 means you lose. Someone else will have the opportunity to post 100 and win. That is probably part of the logic for awarding a second and third place. The second place winner may be satisfied to post 99 knowing that if the next post is 100, they will be relegated to second. But there is a possibility that someone like you will intervene and post a comment instead of a number, allowing the second place player to also post 100 and become the first place winner as well. It is a huge risk to post 99 and hope the next post leaves the door open. It is a risk that may be less severe to the second or third place player than it is to the other players who must post 100 in order to place at all Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!.
Uh... okay, sorry. 43, and I stand by that, whatever it means. Are we having fun yet? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! I didn't see the fine print saying that conversational posts would be interpreted as "passing." Real online games have a chat window. Is there an international "Count to 100" gamesite? I was flabbergasted to learn that people have made an industry out of writing software to play Roshambo (paper-scissors-rock). I think I'll stick with Go.
