On the evening of September 1st, but also on August 31th, we can see an unusual trio: Venus, Mars and Spica will be close together in an area of sky of only 4.3°.

Sounds interesting. Unfortunately, the conjunction is in Virgo: mainly a spring constellation in the Northern Hemisphere. At this time of year, it will be very low in the evening sky from where I am... and it just got cloudy!
