If that were true then how did Hong Kong work for 100 years with democracy?

Depends, are you better off today than 30 years ago? Another thing is that Hong Kong is a much different place than the USA is today.

The question everyone should be asking is, Who is behind the failed Mandan-like "Freedom" "Democracy" "Insert-here" protests in Hong Kong?

And the answer to that is simple, USA.

Mr. Joshua Wong, the leader of the Hong Kong protesters, the face card of US Media News. The founder of Scholarism group, an opposition to Hong Kong follows tactics unlike that of a 17 year old, but mimics more of a coordinated CIA orchestrated Chicago-boys like scenario back in Chile.

I am not Snowden of NSA, to have evidence who Mr. Joshua Wong really works for.
As Americans say it "It it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, craps like a duck, it is a duck"

And Joshua Wong is that duck.

Ok, so the bottom line is , like your many other assertions, you have no evidence.

The average employee is about as well off as they were 30 years ago.
    Meanwhile, productivity has doubled.
The gain from that increased productivity has been unfairly shared.

To date you have been unable to offer any evidence to support your assertions. I could say the Moon is made of Swiss cheese, that doesn't make it so. And it isn't evidence.
