China is responsible for about 10% of global warming since the pre-industrial era, according to estimates published in the journal Nature. The study, which is the first comprehensive assessment of China’s contribution, also suggests that China’s goal of improving air quality could lead to an increased contribution to global warming. The researchers say smog in China’s cities is currently masking temperature increases and that plans to clean up will accelerate China’s contribution to global warming. http://www.businessinsider.com.au/china-is-responsible-for-about-10-of-climate-change-2016-3 Paper: http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v531/n7594/full/nature17165.html
A significant factor everywhere. At least one analyst has pointed out that if global warming spikes do ever throw the global economy into even a short term major crash, the resultant decrease in things like jet contrails and sulphur aerosols will provide an immediate kick to the air warming - a positive feedback so rapid it probably would add directly into whatever the spike was.
