Dragon's list is a good example of what I hate.
Every individual thing he mentioned I have a particularly aggressive hatred towards. Even the ones where he doesn't know what it's called, I know what it is, and I hate it.
Even the picture which failed and just has "ïmage hosted by tripod", I have a sense of what it probably is, and that thing is something I hate.

It's weird how liking one crap thing usually means you'll like other crap things, some of them have no similarity other than the fact they suck. Reboot and ducktales are worlds apart, what could drive someone to like both? Other than a taste for bad things?
No offense dragon, they say bad/good is somewhat subjective, I don't know about that but perhaps you can find comfort in it.
It's just interesting, you must be such a different person to myself. Not differing from myself, not deviating in places, but a perfectly opposite person.

    HATE tom and jerry.
Sylvester and tweety is so much better.
Actually the best ones were before they were really characters and it was just cat and mouse plot devices, with the occassional bulldog plot device.
But this great set of cartoons went on to become sylvester and tweety, and was slightly ruined in the process, but still is better than tom and jerry.
Tom and jerry is nothing to me.
I don't know there's some indefinable substance behind looney tunes cartoons, they have a thick cultural, or even literary, significance behind them.
Then there's something so flimsy and weak about tom and jerry. Even the way they're drawn is just creepy and charmless.
I can tell the guy who made them is just not my kind of guy.

I think at least some of those were from the late 50's early 60's here in the US. I kinda liked Top Cat (only ever saw it in syndication), but then again, I'm an aspiring crazy cat lady.

We're not missing them, we're noticing that they suck.
Every single show you just mentioned, sucks.
Except madeline. It's quite pleasant because it doesn't sacrifice it's artistic integrity by trying to pander to what kids think is cool. If all the girls at the convent rode skateboards and had mobile phones I'd be really pissed off.
I'm glad you took the time to list those shows so I could point to your list and say THAT is what's wrong with children's programming today, in a nutshell.

Ha! Clearly you haven't seen them!
You've picked out a couple which (in your opinion) suck, and concluded by some miraculous leap of logic that the rest (of which you have no knowledge) must suck as well.

Please, edify me. What is it that you think sucks about the characeter development, plot, cinematography, direction, or humour in "Jakers" (to pick one at random)?

Looney Tunes are great. Here's one that came on a DVD with a kid's meal from some fast food chain.

    Postman Pat!
    Postman Pat!
Postman Pat and his black and white cat.

    Early in the morning,
    just as day is dawning,
he picks up all the postbags in his van.

Everybody knows his bright red van.
Everybody smiles as he waves to greet them (I think - not sure about that line)
Maybe - you can never be sure -
there's a knock... ring... message to your door.

    Postman Pat!
    Postman Pat!
Postman Pat and his black and white cat.

    All the birds are singing
    The day is just beginning
Pat feels he's a really happy man.

I agree. The list Pete gave sucks ass.

I used to enjoy Madeline as a kid, although her chirpiness did irritate me slightly. How can anyone in post-WWII France be so god-damn happy?

Oh well. She never bothered me half as much as that moron from 'Roller Coaster'. 10 years ago, and there was no need for a TV talk-show host on the ABC channel prior to showing cartoons. Now a kid has to listen to 5 minutes of lameness from a retard, before they can watch a cartoon.

That's the problem with you kids. No critical reasoning skills.

Another idiot presuming to make assertions which they can't support!

Pray tell, how do you know that I haven't seen the shows you listed? Like Rugrats, which became tedious, tiresome trash once Dil popped up? Or Angela Anaconda, a singing twit who daydreams too much and holds one nasty little vendetta? Or the Magic Schoolbus, which fails in its attempt to teach bullshit by 'dumbing it down', and them making learning appear 'cool'. Or Pingu, a show about animals acting as mimes (I hate mimes...)

Replacing 'Animals of Farthing Wood' with something like 'Angry Beavers'? Oh the humanity...

Yes, like Lou you've picked out a few that you recognize and don't like. Hooray for you!

I bet you can't give a critical review of 'Jakers', or 'Cyberchase'.

If you can, then I'll acknowledge your superiority, bow down, and address you as 'mountainhare, king of cartoon comedy' for the rest of today.

    Deal?

It is named after the blue-and-white flag hoisted by ships in port when they are ready to sail. The reasoning behind the choice of title is that the programme is intended to be a voyage of adventure and discovery for the viewers, constantly covering new topics.
    Thanks, Wikipedia!

    Pete:
While I don't recognise the majority of the shows you picked, most of the ones I did are excellent: Pingu, Postman Pat, Tiny Planets, Wallace and Gromit and Thomas the Tank Engine. I always hated Fireman Sam, for no rational reason, and George Shrinks is terrible. As for the Magic School Bus, I only ever read the books, but they were excellent.
