I seem to remember (a while back) Carlos Casteneda being outed as a writer of fictional accounts of events and people. He is a good writer - nothing more.
I would not so lightly dismiss Carlos Castaneda's work. I had read some of the detractors arguments and found them wanting. Some claim that Don Juan Matus(pseudonym) did not exist but he had other "students" who corroborate Castaneda's account.. Some argue that Don juan's words were not Yaqui, but he was said to be imparting Toltec knowledge. (His residence in Oaxaca would have been within the area of Toltec domination.) anyway That was not the question for which I started this op. ...........................
