Isn't Life Strange Isn't life strange A turn of the page Can read like before Can we ask for more? Each day passes by How hard man will try? The sea will not wait You know it makes me want to cry, cry, cry - Wished I could be in your heart To be one with your love Wished I could be in your eyes Looking back there you were, and here we are. Isn't love strange A word we arrange With no thought or care Maker of despair Each breath that we breathe With love we must weave To make us as one You know it makes me want to cry, cry, cry - Wished I could be in your heart To be one with your love Wished I could be in your eyes Looking back there you were, and here we are. Isn't life strange A turn of the page A book without light Unless with love we write; To throw it away To lose just a day The quicksand of time You know it makes me want to cry, cry, cry - Wished I could be in your heart To be one with your love Wished I could be in your eyes Looking back there you were:
Disturbed The Lost Children Mine Lyrics: Been watching for a long time Seeing the world drawing closer To the edge of calamity How many of our wars have started Over mankind's opiate, We call religion Too many of our children have died, In the never-ending fight for territory Are we born to violence? Can we stop in time? (They Say) You were warned to remain on your side You'll be starting a war now if you cross that line Turn around or face my reprisal, For I have determined That this is mine Been hurting for a long time Feeling my heart torn open From the lack of humanity Insanity on both sides Paving the path that guarantees our own extinction Hate added to the stockpile Filling the world with enemies A constant battle, in the face of violence They emit their cry (They Say) You were warned to remain on your side You'll be starting a war now if you cross that line Turn around or face my reprisal, For I have determined That this is mine (Chant) You were warned to remain on your side You'll be starting a war now if you cross that line Turn around or face my reprisal For I have determined that this is mine We will not be broken this time We will force the whole world to testify Stand your ground or face our reprisal For we have determined That this is?
THE RAINBOW CONNECTION written by Paul Williams sung by Kermit the Frog Why are there so many songs about rainbows, and what's on the other side? Rainbows are visions, but only illusions, and rainbows have nothing to hide. So we've been told, and some choose to believe it. I know they're wrong, wait and see. Someday we'll find it, the Rainbow Connection--the lovers, the dreamers and me. Who said that every wish would be heard and answered, when wished on the morning star? Somebody thought of that, and someone believed it, and look what it's done so far. What's so amazing, that keeps us stargazing, and what do we think we might see? Some day we'll find it, the Rainbow Connection--the lovers, the dreamers and me. All of us under its spell, we know that it's probably magic. Have you been half asleep, and have your heard voices? I've heard them calling my name. Is this the same sound that lured the young sailors? The voice might be one and the same. I've heard it too many times to ignore it, it's something that I'm supposed to be. Some day we'll find it, the Rainbow Connection--the lovers, the dreamers and me. --------------------- This is my best karaoke song. I once had half the people in the bar singing along.
Originally Mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy A kid will eat ivy too Wouldn't you?
Monty Python: The Universe Song. Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour, That's orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it's reckoned, A sun that is the source of all our power. The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see Are moving at a million miles a day In an outer spiral arm, at forty thousand miles an hour, Of the galaxy we call the 'Milky Way'. Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars. It's a hundred thousand light years side to side. It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick, But out by us, it's just three thousand light years wide. We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point. We go 'round every two hundred million years, And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions In this amazing and expanding universe. The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding In all of the directions it can whizz As fast as it can go, at the speed of light, you know, Twelve million miles a minute, and that's the fastest speed there is. So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure, How amazingly unlikely is your birth, And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space, 'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth.

Not quite right. A kid'll eat ivy too. That song was a little inscrutable for the British. They don't flap their intervocalic D's and T's like we do. "Liter" and "leader" are not homonyms to them, so "Mares eat oats" does not sound like "Mares ead oats." Of course today, with TV, movies and pop music, were both much more familiar with each other's dialects, so they would understand it.
The Pretender-Jackson Browne I'm going to rent myself a house In the shade of the freeway Going to pack my lunch in the morning And go to work each day And when the evening rolls around I'll go on home and lay my body down And when the morning light comes streaming in I'll get up and do it again Amen Say it again Amen I want to know what became of the changes We waited for love to bring Were they only the fitful dreams Of some greater awakening? I've been aware of the time going by They say in the end it's the wink of an eye And when the morning light comes streaming in You'll get up and do it again Amen Caught between the longing for love And the struggle for the legal tender Where the sirens sing and the Church bells ring And the junk man pounds his fender Where the veterans dream of the fight Fast asleep at the traffic light And the children solemnly wait For the icecream vendor Out into the cool of the evening Strolls the pretender He knows that all his hopes and dreams Begin and end there Ah, the laughter as they run through the night Leaving nothing but to choose off and fight And tear at the world with all their might While the ships bearing their dreams sail out of sight I'm going to find myself a girl Who can show me what laughter means And we'll fill in the missing colors In each other's paint by number dreams And then we'll put our dark glasses on And we'll make love until our strength is gone And when the morning light comes streaming in We'll get up and do it again Get it up again I'm going to be a happy idiot And struggle for the legal tender Where the ads take aim and lay their claim To the heart and the soul of the spender And believe in whatever may lie In those things that money can buy Though true love could have been a contender Are you there? Say a prayer for the pretender Who started out so young and strong Only to surrender Say a prayer for the pretender Are you there For the pretender? Say a prayer for the pretender Are you there For the pretender? Are you there For the pretender?
