    It seems we live in a time when everybody and anybody can be an "artist" (and/or many other things) merely by stating that they are. They do not even have to produce a "work of art". Conceptualists, for example, do not put hand to media, they just 'cogitate' up their 'art'.

    The last time I was at MOMA a "conceptual artist" had been paid a $4000 US stipend to 'install' a 'conceptual art work' that consisted of 3 pieces of yarn Scotch taped from the floor to the ceiling in such a manner as to suggest a large rectangular pane of glass on an angle. 20 minutes work, tops, trivial idea IMHO. :shrug:

    But the nuns at school told us if we cogitated, we'd go blind! Egads,sounds like they were right.

    I could make better art out of junkyard scraps that actually could do something interactive or fun
