Given this place is a concentrator of PC conformists unconcerned about encroaching omni-surveillance, the following will go over like a lead balloon, which is a pity:

So, are you advertising a platform, or something?

You've never asked. You know what they say about assumptions?

????? Did you actually watch the vid - all the way through? The alarming to many message is clear enough. Nothing to do with any 'platform advertising' here.

The reactions of you two mods confirms my 'assumptions' or rather observations over a number of years here. No discussion of the vid's content whatsoever. Just a highly selective quote avoiding the message in that vid entirely.

You gave no summary of the content, and suggested nothing to discuss, so I haven't bothered watching it.

Not true. The thread title is itself a short summary, as is my first post. You sense where it goes and hence avoid like the plague. As evidently applies to members here in general.

I watched the first two minutes of the 22 minute video. It features some guy talking about online privacy. He seems to be promoting a VPN service and some other stuff. I didn't bother watching the rest.

There was no mention of ideological monocultures.

That is your idea of a fair hearing? The important message kind of develops over the FULL twenty two minutes. Sigh. Ideological monoculture (not those exact words) comes out very clearly.

Why don't you summarise the main points for me? Then we can discuss.

Google, Facebook & ilk hoover up ever more vast amounts of instantly retrievable indefinitely stored personal info readily shared with Big Gov/Intelligence agencies. Knowledge is power. There are particular aspects that come out IF you bother to watch it ALL. If that's too inconvenient end engagement now.

    Yes.
I'm not so sure about that. They tend to resist sharing with governments, as far as I'm aware. Typically, that stuff needs to be legislated. Intelligence agencies are a different matter. They have their own hoovering mechanisms.
    Yes.
I thought you might have watched it yourself and had some comments to make about it, or you might have had something specific you'd like to discuss about it. If that isn't the case, end engagement now.

I did and have but your tactic is to demand more and more detail without yourself needing to put in the requisite effort. Twenty two minutes of viewing time. Only then is it meaningful to seriously discuss the pros and cons.

    https://www.youtube.com/c/BraxMe/about

this brax guy sounds very interesting

considering the massive amount of real fake & opinionated complex technical content swimming around the net
you could put a finer point on what your wanting to discuss

i am always hesitant to just click a link to some random guys web site
a nasty browser high jack &/or combo deal fake web site hi-jacked web site might be waiting at the end of it.

    post a specific

and ... post a specific country too
because some countrys while they may have technology
    are very techno ignorant

I've given plenty enough already to go on. If you are fearful of clicking on links in general then invest in a decent anti-malware suite. I can personally recommend BitDefender.

    horse games
    no thanks

your too lazy to post a few simple words ?

you want me to be pre conditioned by the video content
    for what ?

Lots of posters get away with just posting a link and maybe minimal commentary. For some reason you and others expect a wall of text summary from me. Twenty two minutes expounding imo very pertinent information everyone should be aware of. There is no nasty malware hiding there - quite the contrary. I want you to be 'preconditioned'? Nonsense. Your choice to watch and listen or not.

you think not supplying a couple of simple words is a show of what ?
im asking for your simple definition
its not a competition between who can flame the message board rules as much as possible.

your appear in my opinion from this response process to only be interested in the game of manipulating peoples opinion instead of discussing the facts

how can omni surveillance be encroaching when its already omni ?
    oxymoron !

all things encroach by their nature of invasive process to "surveil"

the very core nature of surveil is to encroach

    word games
    moral games
    horse play

a single link to some smart guy who looks in my opinion
like a right wing conservative tech "the end is nigh"
    preaching tech doom to conservatists
    is hardly science
    thats religion

    in my opinion
your acting like a preachy doom-sayer who has no interest in science

but instead you want to double down on your position to validate your concept as a religious conceptualisation instead of a science subject

while making a group conformism statement about the nature of the sites members

if you wish to discuss something ...
then i suggest you post a few words pertaining to the subject

i think thats a psychology debate concept
is misery a reward for you ?
because "reward based involvement" would be positive or negative
what about monetary profit/reward based ? etc etc etc
