Yes, one of the great epics of all time...modeled after Shakespeares King Lear.

I nominate Joe D'Amato's 'The Pleasure' with Lilli Carati and Andrea Isabelle Guzon.

I'm unable to watch sad movies about real people. I've yet to see Titanic, Passion of Christ, Saving Private Ryan, and Monster.

I love Castaway (any movie that can make me care about a volleyball, deserves an oscar), V for Vendetta (cried for a man's pain/agony who's facial expression was always a smile), Children of Men, and I watch Fifth Element every single time I can.

99% of the time in america they only watch movies wich have american accents in them. they are not very cultured when it comes to foreign movies.

ofcourse some are but they are the vast minority. snatch was a good movie but not the best. my fav movie is out of ong bak and fist of legend.

    peace.

I'd have to say My Cousin Vinnie; it never gets old.

Although having being brought up on Eric Ambler and Raymond Chandler, I also enjoy the crispness of movies like L.A. Confidential and The Usual Suspects.

Then there are the movies of the foreign genre, Amelie and Like Water for Chocolate spring to mind.

There's also special effects and drama, like The Matrix, Swordfish.

Hmm...more but these come to mind at once.

    Good film.

    Chandler/ detective/ gangster movies?

    Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid.

    One of Steve Martin's finest.

    Umm cops and robbers.

I vote for Bowfinger. Had me in stitches, even though Eddie Murphy makes me gag.

    Some;

    Chandler was "film noir", neh?
Hence Dead Men etc was apropos... (not a question of what they were, so much as, "if you're talking this type of film then...")
Cut together from a huge collection of Bogie/ Bacall/ Cagney movies and interlaced with Steve Martin.
    Superbly done.

For me, it is Conan the Barbarian. I know it's not that good a movie, but the score, some of the lines draw shivers up my spine still. Lord of the Rings return of the king - the part where they light the beacons - shivers up the spine. Last of the Mohicans, when they are chasing up the mountain after Magua and the music(finale) the strings and the drums pumping as we reach the bloody climax of the movie - LES FRISSONS!!! The the LotM perfectly beautiful denouement(Chingachgook's eulogy to Unkas) calms the viewer into a complete state of zenlike peace.
