Benazir Bhutto 21 June 1953 - 12 December 2007, The Lady has been assassinated by Islamic extremist in Pakistan, again we see just how much respect for women in Islam there is, She didn't know her Place. Gods blessings on her.
Pakistani Opposition Leader Benazir Bhutto Assassinated RAWALPINDI, Pakistan - Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto has been assassinated after a speech to thousands of supporters at a rally. A party security adviser says Bhutto was shot in the neck and chest as she got into her vehicle, and then the gunman blew himself up. Supporters learning the news have been smashing glass doors at the hospital where she died. Some have been voicing their anger at Pakistan's president Pervez Musharraf. Others have been weeping. Bhutto had twice served as Pakistan's prime minister. She returned in October from an eight-year exile
What does Benazir's gender have to do with the whole ordeal? If she was a man, she would have suffered the exact same fate. If you think this has anything to do with religion, then you're completely delirious.
I wonder which country Pakistan will invade in revenge Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Huh? This more or less has EVERYTHING to do with religion. She was killed by an Islamic extremist suicide bomber, probably in the name of Islam so he could get his 80 or however the hell many virgins that Allah promised him. How can it NOT be in the name of religion? What, are you in religion denial or something?
It's not my fault you don't know the problems that are going on in Pakistan. She was a threat to a man who loved his power too much. This is probably the most ignorant analysis I've ever read, Mike.
Pardon any disrespect, but if you think that the political problems in Pakistan have NOTHING to do with Islam whatsoever, you and Sam are both ignorant. I don't know anyway else to say it.
Er no, its strategic position in the cold war, helped along by military dictators kowtowing to superpowers, was what has influenced Pakistan politics. Please read. The worst relations the United States had with Pakistan (in the 1970s) was with the democratically elected governments. The best have been with Zia ul Haq (who installed the Hudood laws) and Musharraf (who keeps clamping down on any semblance of liberty)
It has nothing to do with religion. It's all about politics and power, and if you don't know that, then you're hearing your news from the wrong sources.
And a country were women are murdered for forgetting their place. Karo Kari, She didn't know her place.
Surprisingly her father, also a liberal, did not receive support from the United States, but Zia ul Haq, a military dictator who came to power in a coup by destroying the elected government and killing Bhutto, did. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
There is no separation of Politics and Power in Islam, it has everything to do with Islam and the religiouspolitical system it is.
It's funny how people that don't know the first thing about the political turmoil in Pakistan resort to distasteful attacks on irrelevant issues such as religion. Perhaps it may be time to read the history and information behind the assassinations and their motivations before hitting "Post". If you think this problem is as easy as blaming religion, then you're disillusional and misinformed.
