Well, as long as it keeps her skinny and her breath doesn't stink, it shouldn't be a problem, right?

Bulimia is a very serious and life threatening disease and may need specialist psychiatric treatment. The first step to curing it is to get the person to actually admitting that they are bulimic, after that it's all uphill unfortunately!

My advice is to research bulimia on the web so that you get a good understanding of this disease, only then will you be able to help your friend.

I don't know much about this sickness, but i truly don't believe that it is an attention getter! My step daughter has been this way since she was 11 years old. I told her mom & dad, but they turned a blind eye to the problem. Well needless to say it has continued (she will be 21 in december) to the point now that she has a 3 1/2 year old daughter who doesn't really understand the concept of what she is doing or why but she eats & pukes because mommy does it! The baby's living situation recently changed, she has been with her dad for the last couple of months. I brought it to their attention & between us all keeping a close eye on her & trying to tell her that it is dangerous & just because mommy did it doesn't mean it is good has stopped alot of it! Thank God! My step daughter still does it & denies it to no end when confronted! I am scared that it is eventually going to kill her or cause serious health problems....

As i said earlier I really don't think it is for attention since most people make excuses or really believe themselves they are sick (virus, flu, ect.) plus most people deny & try to hide it & get seriously pissed off when confronted about it. I am not sure of all the risks, but i do know that it can have serious effects on your heart & i would think that there is a chance for major damage to your stomach & esophogas. I recommend seeking medical help, because it doesn't seem to improve much otherwise....
