Wasnt screamers about tiny little robots that "screamed" through the sand? I think I remember watching that, and other for the robot element that evolves(to be found in stargate, startrek and many other series and movies (matrix)... I do not see a similar story line :/
The major problem I have with this series is simple, in the original the Cylons were robots. In this new version they're human-like robots. I mean how do we go from a reptilian species designing slave robots that look like it to human-like ones? It's ridiculious in every sense of the word. The original series was clearly better, and they could afford descent Cylons!
Oh yeah, and what special effects are you talking about? The ones that remind me of Star Wars Episodes 1-3? LMAO
It has been stated that the new BSG series is reimagined. Why? Well because there is no 'reptilian' species in the new series. In the new one, cylons were created by man and then they rebelled. They created their own society, it seems, and came back to destroy the humans.... and nearly did so. But the great thing is, they arent just interested in annhilating the humans... They want to BE human. And thats obviously a huge part of the story line.
The dramatizations can be annoying sometimes. But that's just my point of view. It doesn't keep me away from the show.
I love the movie screamers. Read the short story it is based off of. Dick rocks. Though, it has nothing really to do with BSG.
Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! I think it's similar. The screamers are robots that begin taking human form to be more like us, they wish to kill humans. It makes sense?
It's no ALF, granted, but 'worst ever'? It has dramatic plots because it's a drama. Comes with the territory. So say we--ah, what's the point... The Frackin' Flemster.
Battlestar Galactica, in its current incarnation, is the finest television show ever made. Right now its only weak spot is the love tangle.
Listen, if you remember Galactica 80 then make the most of what's on now. It'll only get very bad very quick...
I never saw the original. "Official sources" rank this new BSG to be the 2nd best scifi show in history. 1. Star Trek 2. Battlestar Galactica (new) 3. Star Trek Next Generation 4. X-Files I never watched any of the Star Treks. I was a huge fan of X-Files before anybody knew that it existed. I just started watching BSG a few months ago because it was recommended here on Sciforums. Before I started watching BSG, I was watching Heroes which was my favorite current show. Then I watched all the episodes of BSG in the span of a few days nonstop. It fried my brain, but it became my favorite show. Then the New Caprica saga was over, and Heroes started getting better, so now Heroes is back to my favorite show. After New Caprica, BSG just started going downhill. I now see the whole point of the love saga, but it is nonetheless awky to say the least. Then there were the miscellaneous episodes about racism and such. All of which did not do much for the ongoing plot. Oh no the chief and Cally are locked in the garage. Danger. Not much for great action and suspense in that one. Very little for progression of the storyline either way. The stories I liked: Helo on Caprica with cylon Sharon. Starbuck goes to Caprica, meets the Pyramid team, and gets abducted by Cylons. Crashdown goes nuts on Kobol. Baltar running for VP. Then Baltar running for president. Starbuck crashes her viper, and flies the Cylon ship. Episode where Dr. Godfrey brings in the fake footage of Baltar. Episode where we meet Saul's wifey. Starbuck returns with cylon Sharon for more fun on Kobol. Adventures on New Caprica. Billy's death episode. Cylons chilling on Caprica epsisode. Starbuck returns to Caprica to rescue friends saga. Wack Scar episode Cylons attack Pegasus, and the crazy engineer is in command episode Bulldog episode Boxing episode Other than the adventures on New Caprica the rest of the 3rd season has not been all that exited. Meanshile, Heroes is taking off like a mofo!
