I like to stay up to date on both the liberal blogs and the conservative blogs and I would say that the buzz surrounding Barrack's alledgedly forged CLOB that was released on his website and subsequently on the dailyKOS is heating up.

Has anyone here heard anything on this? As for right now, I'm considering it just right wing bloggers fantasy but its certainly something interesting to follow. There are rumors all over that this story is going to break sometime around the convention. Theories are that Hillary is behind it and is using republicans to release the info so there is minimal blow back for her. Then she can sweep in at the convention and take the nomination and beat McCain easily. The Clintons do have a history of using last minute switcheroos and achieving success.

I'll post what I hear in this thread but dont get me wrong, I dont necessarily belive any of this. Just interesting political drama.

After 8 years of lies and instability , Americans should demand and have change .
I preferred congressman Denis Kucinich for president but now I have no choice but to say : Obama is better than McCain in everything . Every person should vote and try to change the nation . Changes are also needed in both the congress and senate where you have nearly the same crap year after year .

If he was a foreigner, I'm sure the Secret Service, F.B.I, C.I.A, N.S.A would of exposed it long ago.

Right wing blogger crap is not really all that interesting to follow, except as a subset of media failure.

There is an essentially infinite supply of bogus allegations that can be used to eat up all of the discussion time we have for choosing the next President. The only interesting feature of them is that McCain seems to be immune. Apparently no one is making up ridiculous lies about him, and there is no cadre of media mouthbreathers dedicated to taking each and every one of such allegations seriously, in sequence, from now until November.

You might consider the fact that McCain is a known quantity. He's been in the public/political sphere for decades. Obama, on the other hand, came pretty much out of nowhere. People don't know much about him. He's a blank slate. So people feel free to make up crap about him.

So were Gore and Kerry. The rush of lies was not staunched thereby.

McCain is not well known, actually, among the general voters. The circumstances of his divorce, his connections with various scandals, his voting record, even his famously bad temper and Cheney-like language, his signs of senility, are not widely discussed. There is plenty of room for exaggerations and lies, to be discussed at length and repeated for days while being debunked on all the major media.

Why is this not happening ?

Mr.Spock: "so, what changes did Obama said he will bring?"

None. He isn't running for King.

Obama is offering leadership as the USA begins our own commanding move beyond the petroleum age, by investing in clean and sustainable energy; leadership to inspire us to do what's right for our country, and not just the oil corporations.

Obama is offering what the vast majority of USAmericans want regarding Iraq: Out.

Obama is offering to provide our nation with less arrogant and more productive representation before the world: "The United States is trapped by the Bush-Cheney approach to diplomacy that refuses to talk to leaders we don't like. Not talking doesn't make us look tough – it makes us look arrogant, it denies us opportunities to make progress, and it makes it harder for America to rally international support for our leadership. On challenges ranging from terrorism to disease, nuclear weapons to climate change, we cannot make progress unless we can draw on strong international support."

There is much more you can learn at barackobama.com about the changes the USA needs to make, that Obama recognizes and is offering the leadership to get us started in making positive change together.

"if you are going to vote for change, dont you want to know what it is?"

Absolutely, but with an understanding that our government was meant to be participatory, and not automatic. Presidents should inspire our nation, and should eloquently express our aspirations. But it's the job of all USAmericans to make positive changes. With leadership that focuses our attention on what we need to get done for the good of this country (instead of special corporate interests) we can do anything that we set our collective intent on.

Yep. When do you think I'll be able to pick up a newspaper, or turn on the TV, or listen to the radio, and find some comparative reporting on that subject ?

Last time I looked, there was a bunch of stuff about whether or not the narrative of Obama being presumptuous and/or arrogant was costing him in the polls, followed by some coverage of McCain handing out tire gauges inscribed "Obama's Energy Policy".

It's just a claim of more integrity, not much integrity. That's a very low bar - it's the current administration and Republican campaign efforts we're comparing with. It would be pretty difficult to have less integrity.

Well, I guess you can debate how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, but splitting such fine hairs is really just sport. There is, as you said, very little integrity, honesty, or concern for the nation on either side of the aisle.

So you find the noticeably lower levels of integrity on the more right and Republican side of American politics unworthy of notice, even, let alone avoidance ?

The system needs a minimum of integrity to function. Think of it like tolerance in a piston ring - some slop is inevitable, even beneficial to prevent seizure; too much slop, and instead of just lower performance your engine fails to run at all.

The fact that almost all of the Republican campaign against Obama has been lies and deceptions so far - that reality and actual issues have not been important areas of concern or discussion in the media as coopted (mostly) by rightwing framing - does have some implications for the nature of the government being prepared by McCain's supporters, no?
