    How would the world function if every body would be an atheist ?

    Well, first they would have to alter the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights and our money; they would take out "In God We Trust" and change it to "Accidents happen". They would have to take away all of the guns away from Americans (which would result in a lot of people getting shot). They would have to close all the churches, temples and synagogues. The thought police would have to show up and confiscate all of the bibles and religious books and have a great book burning of their own. Then they would have to line up Americans in the street, religious Americans, and shoot them in the head.

    Since.
    "Atheists don't believe in a supreme being beyond themselves, they are the supreme being" Since gods don't have to answer to anybody I believe there wound not be anything called morality , nor respect for each other and the ruler would be the strongest man, in essence it would be a Stalinism or a Maois

    Is that what you really believe, Mazulu, or are you having another tantrum?

    An atheist doesn't believe himself to be a god, arauca. You know, I see a number of fruitful discussions on here, and many well intentioned posts by atheists in particular, but it is as though you don't even read them. At the end of the day, you are stuck in your ways, it seems and you aren't remotely open to changing your viewpoint about atheism.

    With a whole lot less ignorance, intolerance, bigotry, racism and conflict, just to mention a few of the negative aspects of religions.

    If you notice on # 3 you will notice quotation marks , meaning that was posted by other person , were you participated and admired that post .
    In your mind you probably think in term of present time , were the society is relatively mature and educated as many on this forum . Now think in the mind of about 500 to 700 back in time , if religion would not be there and the society would be atheist, could there have been any control over the society ? ( please don't bring out the inquisition ). What did Mao did he printed a booklet similar to a pryer book , and for any discussion they read Mao's passage . In Stalinist era they had an indoctrination union called Konsomol union from there come out the party elite,

    My bad; I know the post you're referencing. lol

    To your point: why was there a need to "use" religions in order to "control society?" Why couldn't there have simply been secular laws used to govern society in much the same way we do today? (I'm pleasantly surprised to see you admit that historically, religion was utilized to control societies.)

    So, for you, ignorance, intolerance, bigotry, racism and conflict are good things? I'm not at all surprised.

    And who are the people who take advantage of the masses? the educated, Normally I would say and uneducated person in a society will not be an atheist , Atheism starts as society matures an become educated , and so the morality and order starts to be questioned ,

    Much the same as it does now. Eventually belief systems of some sort would evolve, as would evolve opposing ones, as would evolve people driven by ideology, greed, or whatever, who would aspire to throw out the lot and start over ..

    Here, study this poem by Yeats very carefully - it tells you all you want to know, though it's rather deep, and well beyond many folks paygrade ..

    The Gyres
    THE GYRES! the gyres! Old Rocky Face, look forth;
    Things thought too long can be no longer thought,
    For beauty dies of beauty, worth of worth,
    And ancient lineaments are blotted out.
    Irrational streams of blood are staining earth;
    Empedocles has thrown all things about;
    Hector is dead and there's a light in Troy;
    We that look on but laugh in tragic joy.

    What matter though numb nightmare ride on top,
    And blood and mire the sensitive body stain?
    What matter? Heave no sigh, let no tear drop,
    A-greater, a more gracious time has gone;
    For painted forms or boxes of make-up
    In ancient tombs I sighed, but not again;
    What matter? Out of cavern comes a voice,
    And all it knows is that one word 'Rejoice!'

    Conduct and work grow coarse, and coarse the soul,
    What matter? Those that Rocky Face holds dear,
    Lovers of horses and of women, shall,
    From marble of a broken sepulchre,
    Or dark betwixt the polecat and the owl,
    Or any rich, dark nothing disinter
    The workman, noble and saint, and all things run
    On that unfashionable gyre again.

    Mazulu believes anything that he wants to believe. He admits to that. He is not constrained by reality in any way. If it makes him feel good then he believes it. He wants to believe that space aliens are sending him metal images of how to make a gravity beam. He wants to believe that "ascended masters" have trained him and now he is wise beyond his years. He wants to believe that he is a true Christian and knows who goes to heaven and who goes to hell. And as I have said before, these are just what he admits to. I am sure the belief system is much "deeper".

    The irony is that during the days of the early Christian church, the church took advantage of the masses.

    called civilize the masses by intellectuals for many years , and abuses have taken place . Now during the Stalinist and Maoist in the short period it killed many more then the Christian era for 1000 years.

    n October 29, 1918 the Russian Communist Youth League was established. Eight years later, it was transformed into the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League, also called Komsomol.

    The organization became history with the collapse of the Soviet Union, but people still remember it two decades later. Many successful people in Russia, by and large, came out of the Komsomol organization, including oligarchs, politicians and people of creative professions.

    What remains of the Komsomol today? More than just memories that for the most part are good, despite the ideological component. Organizational experience is the Komsomol legacy.

    Earlier, even at the final stages of perestroika that destroyed the past, it was said that unions were the school of management, while the Komsomol was the school of patriotic education. There is no clear cut way to describe the Komsomol. On the one hand, it was the school of officials and oligarchs, but on other hand it was a hearth and home for people who love their homeland.
