    But I've always been out of step with "the economy" - down when it's up and up when it's down.

    We already know.
    And we know why you're "thankful".
    And sooner or later even the most casual and tolerant of the reasonable American citizenry is going to run out of slack to give.
    So: you have a rightwing political faction voting for rightwing politicians who in turn vote for rightwing leadership - but they are officially "left".
    Especially: When they screw up, it's "the left" that screwed up.
    Sounds familiar, to an American.
