Ack! No more Everquest?!?!??!?! *panics*

Anyway, I'm not troubled by this at all. Humans got through the first million-or-so years of their existence without internet. Why should we be so incredibly crippled if such a disaster were to occur? The people would still get food, water, and other basic necessities. Isn’t that all we really need?

and better yet, the government could just use its Satellites to communicate. They've got plenty of those floating around.

sacrifaces a modem to the god of the global network
and goes around murmuring (mad after the destruction)
: wire, wire, I need a wire. shiny, shiny, optical wire. where are the cables?
