Antifa, BLM and SJWs vs White Nationalist, Battle of Charlottesville

Violent clashes have erupted between white nationalists attending a far-right march and counter-protesters in the US state of Virginia.

Several people were injured after a car rammed into a crowd of people who were against the rally in Charlottesville.

A state of emergency has been declared to enable police to mobilise resources.

The "Unite the Right" march is against plans to remove a statue of a pro-slavery US Civil War general.

So we on the left got something done, no not expanded abortion rights, more medicare, raised wages, no no, we got a statue of General Lee set to be removed. Ok, well, yeah that is something I guess, certainly going to win back the goverment one statue at a time.

Anyways the proper thing to do would be to sit back, laugh at the white nationalist as they pass by and stay close to the police who are our only protection (not attack harass the police), wait for the statue to be taken down.

The stupid thing to do is try to fight the white nationalist, as these are the people who live guns and have been having wet dreams for decades of murdering blacks, latinos, jews, "nigger lovers", etc.

Oh well as now we need to make martyrs of the fools, at least now we can prove to the east of America that the white nationalist are not going to bring social stability and "peaceful relocations of non-whites".

Once again you assign BLM to "the left", and "we". Those videos are mentally crippling.
You might want to check with the BLM folks, about the police protection, before giving them advice on dealing with white racism.
And the part about "attack harass the police" - doesn't seem to be part of the story. Habit?

This is our chance, trump clearly does not want to piss off the alt-right the voted him to power, so he has proclaimed that “many sides” are at fault.

So far 1 dead and 19 injured in the carmaggodon, which I give 99.9% chase as a white nationalist but police are not releasing his name yet, police helicopter crashed, killed two, may have been shoot down, again probably by white nationalist. Unarmed Antifa fools were stupid, but not no match to the armed white supremacist out to reenact "The Birth of a Nation". — “Trump comments were good. He didn’t attack us. He just said the nation should come together. Nothing specific against us. ... No condemnation at all. When asked to condemn, he just walked out of the room. Really, really good. God bless him.” — Daily Stormer, a white supremacist website promoting the Charlottesville demonstration on its Summer of Hate edition.

Right. And look who is president now. Your approach fails again.
  9. ElectricFetus Sanity going, going, gone Valued Senior Member

My "approach" was never implemented to begin with. If anything I personally would advocate for hugging these people and telling them they are not hated, but I don't think anyone is ready to consider that, beside gandhi.
  10. iceaura Valued Senior Member

    Our chance to do what?
You mean get Fox and Breitbart and Trump to tell them that, of course. It certainly doesn't do any good to talk to yourself about how you don't hate people.

Says the guy who whines incessantly about liberals alienating conservatives. We're a little bit past the laughter stage. Terrorism is not a laughing matter. Well, you know, unless you're a two-bit, uneducated—no, you know what, let's skip the political correctness, so, yeah, unless you're a worthless, stupid—poseur trying to convince liberals to give conservatives whatever they want.

Well, there is no reason to meet conservatives on the field of murder and terrorism; neither is there a reason to surrender.

    —as our neighbor noted:

Try dealing with reality for a change, ElectricFetus. Your racist, sexist, hatemongering fantasies just aren't a convincing posture of liberalism.

Petty poseur provocateurs pretending poorly posit perfidous prescriptions:

Meanwhile, life goes on for the living—

White nationalists descended on Charlottesville, Virginia, on Friday and Saturday to protest the city's decision to take down Confederate monuments. But not only have the protests done nothing to change Charlottesville's mind on this issue, it's apparently prompted at least one other city to speed up action to remove its Confederate statues as well.

Mayor Jim Gray of Lexington, Kentucky, made the announcement on Twitter on Saturday:

    • I am taking action to relocate the Confederate statues. We have thoroughly examined this issue, and heard from many of our citizens.

    • The tragic events in Charlottesville today have accelerated the announcement I intended to make next week.

    • Tuesday I will ask Council to support Lexington's petition to the Ky Military Heritage Commission, a required next step. Details to come.

    • Lexington's Confederate statues of Breckinridge & Hunt Morgan located at our Historic Courthouse, which will soon be our new visitors center

—and not everyone is given to uneducated, anti-American treachery and cowardice.

Aaah yes the police are bad, I think I have pointed that out before, what should we do about it? Your never consider a solution, all you do is bitch. Now when white nationalist are screaming blood and soil, armed with shields and bats and guns, what exactly do you do? Well you can't turn to the police, because they are bad, aaah so take up your second amendment rights and buy guns, arm up, defend your self.... wait a minute that sounds like what the otherside would do. How about police reform, body cameras, de-esculation training, external affairs as opposed to internal affairs consisting of a citizen elected console, not use police a regressive tax collectors to finance the city via fines, etc. Ok now there is what to do with the police, in the mean time when a parade of white nationalist, armed to the teeth, march through the streets, stay close to the police.

Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

But by all means you tell me your "no police" solution to dealing with white nationalist?

As for the statue, I already pointed out we had won, it was to be moved anyways, there was no reason to go out and antagonize the white nationalist.

What is happening is 2 decades of economic stagnation for uneducate white means these people have nothing left to be prideful in then their own skin, and being uneducated morons ideas like the immigrants are at fault for all their problems (instead of the technology and rich) and "build the wall" are very attractive to these people. Now the solution is to educate these people that out sourcing and automation is the cause, not immigrants, provide anti-establishment candidates that are presenting radical solutions to income inequality that these people can believe in, not 'do nothing' establishment candidates they blame for their shit lives. The solution is not to scream "racist" at this people and have counter protests like antifa, that only inflames the problem, only rallies them.

Now Tiassa, what is your solution?
You can call me names, but at the end of the day you have no idea what what to do.

Pandering to radicals is not without costs.

Lee was a top graduate of the United States Military Academy and an exceptional officer and military engineer in the United States Army for 32 years. During this time, he served throughout the United States, distinguished himself during the Mexican–American War, and served as Superintendent of the United States Military Academy.

the plan to remove the statue sparked protest and counter-protest.

It seems that all sides had nothing better to do with their time.

the clashes occurred near a statue of Thomas Jefferson

Jefferson founded the university in 1819. (and repealed the tax on whiskey instituted under Washington)---see below:

May I suggest that any who want no taxes on whiskey should march on any statues of George Washington and/or Alexander Hamilton and tear them down.

I fine with taxes on whiskey, so no thanks.

As for some statues, I give zero fucks, ZERO! Is a statue worth running people over in a car with?

A statue is a symbol with different meanings for different people.
Show me any statue of any great man or woman, horse or dog, and I imagine that I could find a flaw in their character or actions worth creating a protest for idiots to indulge their lunacy.
  18. geordief Registered Senior Member

I guess whoever did that did to satisfy his hatred of the group they were aligned against. The statue is a pretext , a rallying issue.

Trump doesn't seem to consider the action of driving into a crowd of people an act of domestic terrorism. Is this because he is stupid or because he sympathises with the act in some way?

Except it did not have anything to do with the statue though, did it?

As one right wing pundit noted:

Welcome to Unite the Right, a gathering of supremacist-leaning groups coming together for a cause of racial purity — and apparently virginity. Ahead of Saturday’s rally, where the groups claim they are being persecuted for being white, they staged the march through the campus of the University of Virginia.

Brilliant. Stage your Holsum White Bread gathering on the campus founded by Thomas Jefferson, famed for his love affairs with female POCs.

These extreme basement-dwellers seemingly stocked up for their march by storming the local Party City locations to buy out their supply of tiki party torches.

The supposed purpose of this March, and the ensuing rally, is outrage that the state has elected to move a statue of Civil War figure Robert E. Lee. There have been court cases by the group, in tandem with the ACLU, battling the state over the act, and over the right for the group to assemble, and where. However it seemed this became a tangential issue for the white males last night.

Chants rose from the citronella-scented mob:
    “White Lives Matter”
    “You Will Not Replace Us”
    “Jews Will Not Replace Us”

(I presume Jews were behind the statue relocation…???)

On social media some wan defenses were offered that this was not a “Nazi Protest”, and that it was #FakeNews to report on the march in this fashion.

    Yea, about that —

Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

One other chant was bellowed into the night as well: “Blood & Soil”. This is a direct link to the Nazi party of the 1920s, which gave rise to Adolph. But sure, this was all about the placement of a historical statue in the commons.

Please tell me what the NAZI salute and singing "Blood and Soil" and comments about Jews and whatnot, had to do with the statue?

The statue was an excuse. These people are inciting violence because they want a civil war and they want a whites only South.

The League of the South’s longtime president, retired university professor Michael Hill of Killen, Alabama, posted a message in July that began, “Fight or die white man” and went on to say Southern nationalists seek “nothing less than the complete reconquest and restoration of our patrimony — the whole, entire South.”

“And that means the South will once again be in name and in actuality White Man’s Land. A place where we and our progeny can enjoy Christian liberty and the fruits of our own labour, unhindered by parasitical ‘out groups,”’ said Prof. Hill’s message, posted on the group’s Facebook page a day after a rally in support of the a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee in Charlottesville.

The group’s website says it is “waging a war to win the minds and hearts of the Southern people”.

But yeah, it's just easier to just claim it is about the statue and hope like hell no one notices just how downright idiotic that sounds....

Yes you are correct, this is all part of a larger culture war, and yes I think should be pointed out constantly that trump can say "islamic terror" but can't say "white nationalist"

The culture war we are seeing now is a product of our economy, of a dying middle class, and people in desperation turn to different, radically different solutions, be it blame the immigrants, or anarchcommunism. We must propose sensible viable solutions and not solutions that would lead to civil war, total collapse of our society and millions of deaths.

Oh look at these lovable people, just totally sensible and sane, hooting like fucking monkeys, "blood and soil!" and "Trump! Trump! Trump!" ooh this is going to make some great political ads!

Yep. Most of them have been tried. And look who is president now. Your approach fails again.
  22. sculptor Valued Senior Member

    Yeh, actually, it did.

And then, the counter-protesters saw a good chance for a confrontation and some photo-ops.
They succeeded, and now comes the blame game wherein everybody gets to satisfy their ghoulish desire to feast on the bodies of the slain and injured to claim whatever they want as to the motivations of the original protesters, and the folks that came later.

    This is idiocy.
Rue the rule of the mob.

    little advice
    stay home
Had the counter-protesters stayed home this never would have happened.
Who the hell cares if a bunch of folks with torches want to stay up late and protest the removal of a statue.
If they ain't setting anything on fire or committing vandalism they were within their rights.
Ah ha but then comes the rule of the mob, and thousands get sucked into thinking that the the photo-ops bespeak a greater social reality.

    Why am I not surprised?
  23. ElectricFetus Sanity going, going, gone Valued Senior Member

Most of those have not been tried, and also police reform is not a major issue anyways, economic reform is foremost and must be what we spend the majority of our time talking about. Talking about police reform on a national level, instead of a local level where it belongs, cost us votes.

Yeah antifa is stupid, but antifa did not run over people yesterday.
