The question at hand is: under what circumstances should the EPA be permitted to withhold data, study results, etc, from the scientific or general public ? My own take is never. That the occasional overdramatic controversy from the ups and downs of research as seen by an uncomprehending public is just the price paid for the benefits, which are well worth it.
