Trying to get peoples opinions and some information I may have missed. So let's talk about WHO really found America. WHY do you think they came here? WHAT were they here for anyway? HOW is by "land bridge" and boat. But what kinds of boats. A Long boat? WHERE did they "land" first? East or West? WHAT order do you think they arrived? They has been rumors of a lost tribe of Israel coming here, Chinese, Viking, English, 1492 Columbus, the "islanders", "Indians" over the land bridge. Some in other "parts" of the world may have heard things differently. If so what was you told? curiously... -R1D2
WHY do you think they came here? Perhaps they were explorers or people that wanted to find another place to live because where they were living at became a problem like no food or water. WHAT were they here for anyway? To find a better place in which to live other than where they came from. Or they were just exploring to find out what was going on elsewhere other than where they came from. HOW is by "land bridge" and boat. But what kinds of boats. A Long boat? The land bridge was a crossing on the Bering Straights that was once covered by thick ice so that those people coming across from Asia could walk across it without any problems. Boats were used by the Polynesians that came across the Pacific ocean to settle in South America and Central America and even North America. WHERE did they "land" first? East or West? It is believed that the first peoples came in on the West coast of the Americas. Europeans came across on the East coast but they were not the first peoples to discover America. WHAT order do you think they arrived? 1, 2, 3 and so on...
Seen recently on tv but I can't find the map I seen. Anyone ever seen a very old chinese world map. Or have any good pictures of it to post. And to answer a earlier question.... Does it really matter? Columbus first found the Caribbean. So any of the americas.
Who? Ancient Asians. Then many tens of thousands of years later, perhaps a few Vikings. Why? There was likely no why, I don't think they even realized this was a separate place. They were probably always looking around for better hunting grounds. Where? Alaska, and then the West Coast, gradually spreading south and inland.
