America is indeed not a nightmare compared to what any part of the world would have been before the advent of modern science. However, if you compare american public senarios to other advanced countries today, it is laced with much larger proportion of problems like ignorance, stupidity, religious extremism or even social issues like healthcare and economic stability and prosperity for the people. These kinds of problems belong in developing 3rd world countries at the worst, but they are not acceptable, atleast not ignorable, in the only superpower in the world, especially one whose leader thought that his 'rape osama and saddam' plan was a mission from god and which spends over half of the military spending of all the countries in the world combined.
