Has anyone else heard the claim that a babies body heat releases succinic acid in amber necklaces which acts as an analgesic for teething discomfort?

Reasons I think this is wrong:

    (1) Amber is as hard as gold
    (2) Amber is petrified and has survived thousands or millions of years in spite of the elements trying to wear it down.
    (3) Amber requires a temperature of 182 degrees celcius to release and volatiles.
    (4) All this indicates that a babies body heat is not sufficient to release the succinic acid contained in amber.

What are your thoughts on this.

And what are some alternative scienficially supported treatments for teething?

    Thanks

One of the best solutions to the discomfort of teething is to drop the baby off with the grandparents.

Really though, the best thing I found was those teething biscuits that look kinda like dog biscuits. The kids gnaw on those and make a slobbery mess but it seems to help.

I think having a child choke to death on a piece of amber is a bit extreme.
