Finally actually getting around to posting my intro thread (from my mother's house). I go by Alerya (the name I have for years hoped to name my first daughter down the road) here, but my name is actually Nikki. I am almost 28 years old, looking forward to someday being a mother, and absolutely enjoy just being a little out there. I am the wife of Kittamaru and thus have known about and had opinions about things going on here for years. I am a huge believer in transparency, and I have fought for this on several forums I have frequented over the years. I am both very emotional and very scientifically minded (thus my primary reason for finally joining this site) and enjoy a good debate, though my belief is ALWAYS and will always be that to have a true scientific debate one needs to push aside emotions (which are a large part of debate admittedly) and be completely ready and willing to look at what the other side is saying. I enjoy movies that call my thoughts into question and absolutely adore any movies, books, etc. that are about dystopian futures as I believe that the best way to correct the current problems with our society is to see what those problems could lead to and fix those problems as a way to try to avoid those futures. (Among my favorites: 1984, Gattaca, The Hunger Games (and yes, I have a penchant for reading young adult novels...most adult novels I find to be far too droll). Divergent, and Fahrenheit 451.) Oh, and I paint t-shirts for fun and love the Renaissance era (I am working on collecting chainmail). Welcome! I wonder if you are the first husband and wife that are posting at the same time here? I am anxious to see you and Kittamaru arguing with each other on the one of the threads. Man it would be really interesting if he banned you. Just kidding, like I said, welcome. As an aside, I just had a really strong sense of deja vu as I was typing that. Kind weird...:shrug:

I know, he's a weirdo and it's hard to believe he has one (sorry, hun, but you know it's true...still surprised we're the first among our friends married...) But it is true. Too bad I didn't record any of the conversation we had about abortion the other day, that talk always kind of gives it away that we are NOT one in the same.
