Secret agreements are secret when we and you dont know of it. There were no WMDs...the data was fabricated by CIA.

    * Author's Credentials

The author of this paper is a veteran international journalist and a former intelligence operative (of the Polish Intelligence). In the 1970's and 1980's, he had frequent contacts with Palestinian terrorist groups, with the Saddam Hussein regime's diplomatic, intelligence and commercial personnel, as well as with Soviet officials, diplomats and intelligence operatives(some of them serving in Iraq and other Arab countries). Arrested by the then Polish Communist Security Service (SB) in 1987, condemned by a secret Communist Military Court to 8 years in special prison wards for allegedly working for the CIA, Japanese Prime Minister's Intelligence Service and for conspiring against the Warsaw Pact, he was released by virtue of general amnesty on February 28, 1990, after the regime change in Poland. Soon after the release, he resumed his journalist and business activity, cooperating with American diplomacy and intelligence and with Israeli diplomats and nuclear experts. Traveling extensively under the cover of businessman and tour-operator, he collected ample evidence of the illegal trade in nuclear materials, weapon parts and technology between Russia and other post-USSR states and Arab and Muslim countries, through a variety of intelligence, military and mafia channels. His activity covered Central and Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Russia, China, Israel and several Middle East countries.

Them dam Poles, be careful, they have a long memory, and a great military, and now they have first rate equipment, none of that old soviet Cast off, Russia just might get it ass kick proper, and receive payback for Kaytin.

The Polish have a first rate Intelligence Service, even better than the KGB.

Didn't Iraq manufacture a lot of its weaponry, especially light arms ?

And an interest in the Iraq war, it seems:

About the Iraq home weaponry industry, and a large factor in the worldwide spread of Soviet weaponry:

Seem like a open deal, nothing covert about it, and the reasoning would make sense on one hand.

I also wonder if could be that Military weapons can't be supplied to Civilian Police forces, that is the law here.

In America, military weapons purchased on military contract, cannot be supplied to Law Enforcement, they have to be purchased on original contract by the Purchasing Law Enforcement Agency.

This I know, because a friend of mine is a class three dealer, and most of his class three is with Law Enforcement around the country.

That is one of the design point that the Russians built into the AK, its simplicity, you can ignore maintenance on the weapon and it still works, even with corrosive ammo, hell they teach 10 year olds how to use the weapon.

The quote was about the supplying of AKs to the Afghans, Charlie Wilson's War.

Some people seemed to be arguing that because weapons were Soviet-style weapons, there and elsewhere, that the Soviets were supplying them.

The links simply document the US supplying Soviet-style weapons, by the ton, to various people in the Middle East. They also document the local manufacture of Soviet style weapons, in Iraq specifically, in large quantities.

It shows a motive for trumping up "intelligence", on the part of the Poles.
The usual US pattern is the creation of a paramilitary force, maybe a National Guard or the like, that enforces desired US policy without being accountable to a chain of command under the public or official government.

One problem in Iraq is that these paramilitaries are not sufficiently beholden to the US or a US proxy government, not even for weapons. So they are in business for themselves to a greater degree than in, say, Colombia.

Why does anyone care what Ahmadamnut says? The recent election in Iran should remind everyone of the actual power structure in Iran. The President of Iran is about as powerful as the Governor of Rhode Island. The real power resides in the Guardian Council and the Supreme leader. To much attention is paid to Amadamnut while the real power structure in Iran is often ignored.

Then, of course, he's subordinate to the "Supreme Leader" and approved by the Shura Council. The state seems a bit theocratic to let him run around loose. Possibly not, of course.

I still see you haven't taken up mine, buffalo's and others' suggestion to pick up a decent history book on the topic. The polish soldiers that he soviets killed werten't traitors. they never worked with the nazis. Thery were patriots who fought against one of the invading countries that beset their country Russia.

the idea that fighting for freedom in another country is fighting for freedom everywhere is prevalent in the polish mindset. take the slogan from the banners of the polish legion in Italy. for your freedom and ours
