Another day another woman is disfigured by a acid throwing muslim man.
is there a place in modern times for the evils of islam,
the people who stick up for this religion will remind you of the attrocities of catholics 50 or even 100 or 200 years ago, but the big difference is all religions apart from islam has grown, we are more educated we no longer burn witches at the stake, we all no the difference between right and wrong, but in islam they are still killing in the name of there religion, when are the twisted and evil clerics who run this massive cult going to speak out condemn the daily attrocities going on in this religion.

But there lies the problem it is these very clerics who are telling there flock of sheep to go and do these things, the pope has condemned george bush, because that is the job of religous leaders to try and keep the peace and promote understanding and love for all people.

But the muslim clerics see there job quite differently, they see there job as promoting hatred to other religions, anyone who is not a muslim is a infidel, lower than a dog as they put it, and all infidels are the devils children they say.

I believe it will take 100 or 200 years before these people and there religion will be educated and at peace with each other, until then is it not time to seperate them completley from the civilised world, and just maybe i can switch on the news for the 1st time in about six years without the first 30 minutes being taken up by muslims killing people around the globe, i like most normal people am sick of this islam circus.

They have taken away any compassion i ever had for them it has reached a stage that if 20 million of them died in a earthquake tomorrow, i would say that the world is a safer place to live in, and i am very sad to say i would be happy about it,

but how can i pity a rabid dog and that is islam today one angry rabid dog.

Sorry Vinnie but you should read your links before you post them....nowhere in that article does it say that Islam was responsible or even that the man who commited that act was a muslim. It says that it was a "domestic abuse" I assume you said it was a "muslim" thing because it happened in Pakistian but if you would have done your homework you would have known that thing happens frequently in India and Cambodia aslo.

The tragic event you link to, is more importantly the action of a very jealous lover or husband. Religion is perhaps used as an excuse, but is, i suspect, not the prime motivation. Do not forget that there are quite a few cases of extreme domestic violence in the West, it is not something traditionally Eastern nor Islamic.

Today, Western forces are killing in the name of democracy, freedom and economic prosperity. A religion by another name.

I do not think that all the muslim clerics are extreme fundamentalists. Every religion of course promotes itself, Christianity just as well as pretending to be the only road to salvation, implying that atheists and believers of other religions will end up worse. In only the extreme cases there is a call for arms, but it is of course those cases that hit the media.

Then, perhaps, you scan the news a bit too biased. The largest crisis in the world today seems to be the one in Sudan.

Let me get this straight. You feel sorry for a woman disfigured, yet you feel happiness if twenty million people died? Those twenty million are not your enemy, the vast majority of them do not disfigure women on a dialy basis, the vast majority of them do not fly planes into skyscrapers, the vast majority of them just wants a peaceful life. Just like us. In fact, they are very much like us, because they are humans.

Islam is not different as Christianity in the sense that it is a religion. It does not preach more violence than Christianity, but Islam is nevertheless being used as a leverage to win support by extremist leaders, in very much the same way Christianity was and is used to seed distrust for those we see as "different". By continuously putting the Islam in a negative perspective, you are only playing in the cards of those fundamentalists. They thrive if the West is looking down on the Islam with a pedantic and arrogant look.

on a regular basis churches in indonesia are attacked priests killed people praying killed as they kneel, often mosques are attacked in pakistan by different muslim factions and people killed, there is no sacred place for these people. please please find a time or place in history when normal and sane religions have attacked places of worship and killed people why they prey, and no george bush as a example the whole world already knows he is a complete idiot, and that american planes drop bombs on everthing and anyone that moves, the biggest casualities the brit army sustained in the1st gulf war were from american bombers, like i said no american examples they have the biggest army in terms of hi-tech, but the soldiers using it are hardly hi-tech

You are right, there are Islamic fundamentalists involved in that human tragedy, I (until now) thought it were Arabian factions, who were not necessarily Muslims. Nonetheless, it is not the religion that is the motiviation of such, or most, conflicts. It is the need for resources, and a religion, in this case Islam, is abused for it. Islam in itself is not more inevitably evil than Christianity.

The colonisation of Southern America by Europeans? The crusades of European armies in the 11th and 12th century? Yet, also at those instances I think it was not Christianity who did the pillaging and killing. I suppose it was more a mode of conquest, a political tool to achieve control over newly found colonies.

Women do get killed and raped here, just as anywhere else. Maybe pouring acid is a method less used, but violence towards women in itself is unfortunately still present in many other violent and sometimes fatal forms.

Well, history shows a different picture. The Western nations didn't climb to world dominance in the last few centures by being very tolerant towards other religions or cultures. It is no surprise that those who currently feel suppressed by the West are usually not members of a Western religion. Do not take this as my approval of terroristic violence, I despise it in any form. However, I do think that we should also look at ourselves as a catalyst for a part of that violence.

I have little or no knowledge about the news channels in the US, but I do watch BBC World (I live in the Netherlands, but we receive BBC World, BBC I and BBC 2 to my great pleasure). I am not entirely sure if they are completely unbiased, but I do argee with you that it is a good source of news.

I would say this is a sign of the person’s culture, not their religion. I certainly wasn’t surprised to see that the event occurred in South Asia - as that is where these sorts of crimes commonly take place (this occurs frequently in India as well Pakistan).

Islam is just a belief system. Its tenants are actually quite similar to Xianity and Judaism. The real culprit here is the tribal culture. With the exception of the occasional Western and Eastern manufactured product slipping in (aka: guns, cell phones, and trucks) these people live as they did 5000 years ago. You can’t really expect them to behave as one would living in London or NY now can you? Anyway, you needn’t look all that far back into Englands/Europe’s/Amercia’s past to see a similar brutality taking pass against women (like maybe a mob burning one at the stake for an exceptionally bad drought! or better yet, hanging a women for having a stillbirth! (plenty of women hung at Oxford over the centuries).

So one could generalize and say Xianity certainly is cruel – I mean most of these people were probably read something right from the good book before they died. Does anyone know – Do they still read from the Bible before killing (I mean execution) people in the States? Anyway, by your reasoning the many Xian LEADERS that rape young boys must imply there is something inherently evil about that religion?

Summary: Islam is basically indistinguishable from Xianity and it’s really the ME culture that many Westerners find so appalling.
